I recently stayed at this hotel in Matera, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel had a unique and stunning design, built into the ancient cave dwellings that the city is famous for. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, blending modern amenities with the rustic charm of the caves. The cleanliness was impeccable—every corner was spotless, and the attention to detail made the stay even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was peaceful, almost magical, with the natural stone walls creating a cozy, cave-like ambiance. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every need was met. The location was also perfect for exploring Matera's incredible UNESCO-listed Sassi district, with easy access to the town's attractions. If you’re looking for an experience that combines history, beauty, and comfort, this hotel is a must-visit. I can't recommend it enough!

The property is nice, but not the service. The hotel promised to assist us with our luggage from the parking, but they didn't answer the phone for a long time. It was difficult to drag our havy bags by ourselves when we came with children. There was no apology, just "O we have three lines here."..Really? Parking owner knew about this hotel and knew they wouldn't answer, just empty promises. If you want to stay with people who care, you should go to another hotel.

The property is absolutely wonderful. Rooms are big enough for a 2 night stay. Wasn't a fan of shower over the bath as bath was quite high. Buffet breakfast had plenty to offer but no cooked eggs/bacon ie scrambled or fried. Location is great as walking distance to just about everything. Enjoyed the Thermae....something different! Loved our stay

The Room was fa away from the lobby and the break fast. A 5min walk throught the City. The problem was that the promised to help us with the suitcases, but they never showed up to this far away location. Matera is full of stairs and we have to carried them ourself.

Such a special place, we were in awe! Room had a balcony which looked right into / over the sassi. Staff were friendly. Spa area was phenomenal! So much more than just that pool. Would love to go back!

Tired , dusty, spa is extra cost on top of the room cost . TV didn’t work we ask for it to be fixed however they were too busy with groups . Dirty shower screen . More stairs than the Spanish Steps in Rome . Pity because the historical centre is wonderful . The hotel is over rated .

What a special place. We felt we were right in the center of it all from the cavelike dwelling to the location and especially the thermal spa. Absolutely loved our stay there for our 4 friend explorers.

We visited for our 40th Ruby Anniversary. Our “Cave” room (#7) was huge, well well appointed in the local style. The temperate in the room remained pleasant whatever the temperate outside. The bed seemed like 2 x double in size. The jacuzzi bath was relaxing and the water super soft. The outside seating was a little bumpy ( as is most of the Sassi) but gave us a panoramic view of 1/2 the town. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and unusually most seemed to enjoy each others company which always makes a stay more relaxed. The food on offer was all local, fresh and unbelievably delicious. Some of the breads looked unappealing to UK taste but all were great. Being English we would have liked a kettle in the room for all day tea and coffee as the bar was downstairs and not open 100% of the time.
