Elk Lodge Summary:<br>El

Summary:
Elk Lodge is a spacious 1800 sq. ft. cabin in Timberline Meadows, perfect for up to 9 guests. This retreat features 3 bedrooms, a loft, and 2 bathrooms, with mini-split heating/AC and air purifiers in the bedrooms. Enjoy ski-in/ski-out convenience with direct access to the Methow Trails system, just a short walk away. The cozy living room with a gas fireplace opens to a fully equipped kitchen. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, making Elk Lodge an ideal base for outdoor adventures.

The Space:
Elk Lodge is a charming retreat nestled in the Timberline Meadows community in the upper Methow Valley, close to Mazama. This spacious 1800 sq. ft. cabin accommodates up to 9 guests, making it ideal for families, couples, or groups of friends.

Elk Lodge features 3 bedrooms and a loft. The main floor has a queen bedroom, while the second floor includes another queen bedroom and a room with two twin beds. The loft area provides additional sleeping with two twin futons.

The cabin offers two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and the other with a tub/shower combination. The cozy living room, with its inviting gas fireplace, is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The open-plan space also includes a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals.

Elk Lodge provides ski-in/ski-out access to the Methow Trails system, just a short walk from the cabin. This extensive trail network is ideal for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.

For comfort, the cabin is equipped with mini-split heating and air conditioning, along with portable air purifiers in the bedrooms. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and a mudroom for gear storage.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Whether you're relaxing on the deck, hitting the trails, or warming up by the fire, Elk Lodge is a great base for your Methow Valley getaway.

The Neighborhood:
The Timberline Meadows development, located in the Upper Methow Valley, is home to several nightly rentals, as well as some private homes. The homes are all nestled in the trees at the edge of the National Forest. The wintertime ‘John’s Way’ cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails connects Timberline Meadows to Mazama and the Upper Methow trail system (permits required in winter), making this a great ski-in / ski-out location, away from the bustle of the Mazama trailhead but close enough to ski down to the store.

The Mazama Store, with its great bakery and ‘a little bit of everything good’ is just a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride from the cabin, and around 20 minutes by ski (depending how fast you slide and glide). Mountain bike and ski rentals are also available in Mazama.

Other local attractions include the Loup Loup Ski Bowl, Winthrop Rink (named one of the 10 best ice rinks in the West by Sunset Magazine and one of the only NHL-sized refrigerated rinks in the country – open for Pickleball and inline skating in the summer), Early Winters Outfitters which features horseback riding is just at the Timberline Meadows turnoff from Highway 20. North Cascades National Park is just west on Highway 20, part of the Cascade Loop. And of course, the Methow Valley is home to the largest cross-country ski trail network in North America with great skiing and abundant sunshine!

Getting Around:
Getting here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over highway 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop.

Getting around: It’s a 20 minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 21 minutes to Washington Pass and 27 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead, making this a great hiking base-camp for exploring the North Cascades and for beating the crowds to the trailhead during larch season.

The old west town of Winthrop is 12 1/2 miles and around 15 minutes drive down valley, with its great shopping, bakery and dining establishments; the Shafer Museum is also worth a visit to learn about the local history. Winthrop has a fun ice skating rink and is the jumping off point for Methow Rafting’s raft and float tubing on the Methow River. Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial Day Rodeo, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).

Great location and wondeful cabin (house
The Elk Lodge is two-story, very clean and comfortable, with great appliances in the kitchen for cooking, well lit (which is often not the case with rentals). The living room is spacious and opens off of the kitchen. Two nice bedrooms and bathrooms. The location is perfect, near the Mazama store and trailheads in the quieter part of the valley well back from the highway. We will return to Elk Lodge next year for Spring Hiking.

Fun in the snow
This is my 4th annual trip to Winthrop with friends. We all ski and snow shoe and enjoy each others company. We never did figure out the TV and DVD player but that was minor for us. Loved the quiet location easy access to either Mazama or Winthrop trails. Well appointed kitchen and we did dine in with shared dinners. Traveling with good cooks is highly recommended!

Close proximity to Mazama, met all our needs
Wonderful property. Well stocked kitchen. Property management was great. Very easy to check in and check out. Close proximity to Mazama. Very private. While close to John’s Way trail, it was really awkward to get to. Had to climb over snowbanks. Would be great for the community to provide easier access. All in all, a great rental.

Perfect Base Camp
We absolutely loved this cabin and it’s location. It was the perfect base camp for our three days of hiking in the Winthrop / Okanogan area. Kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of utensils, pots, glasses and plates. Lots of space for 6 hikers. We loved the entry way where we could drop our gear before entering the main house. The beds were super comfy and the gals who used the futons said they were pretty good too. They had a few fans in the bedrooms, which was important to me as I sleep hot. Showers were well stocked with shampoo, conditioner and soap. We could have used a few more towels ~ only 6 were left for 6 people over three nights. But we made it work! We would definitely recommend this cabin to couples or a small group of friends.

Loved this cabin
We were so happy when we pulled up and saw this amazing cabin. It was located near our hiking spots at Blue Lake, Rainy Lake and in North Cascades NP. It was convenient, clean and a cozy place. My only wish is that we had more time to just relax here but we were constantly on the go. What a great get-away cabin!
