I wanted to visit plaza botero which i heard was a sketchy area. The hotel in next to it and a great place to stay. It was clean and secure and the staff very helpful. Made me feel much safer and relaxed

The property needs renovations and painting. It's an old hotel, but it doesn't smell bad. Given the hotel's history, they should maintain it better and improve or update the facilities. I always felt safe inside the property, it has a spectacular view of the historic center.

Very spacious and convenient location.

This is the most traditional and the first hotel founded in Medellin and it has been untouched basically in the rooms but everything else is clean and spacious and most importantly that is right in the center of the city which is very convenient to go around walking. The service desk is helpful.

I love this hotel. I am sure that it has seen better days but it has charm and character. Great location if you want to stay in the centre. The rooms are spacious, good quite air conditioning nice shower and lovely and helpful staff.

Amazing!

It is such a great hotel with an amazing service. It also has a great variety of small restaurants and great bar area. I had a great time and the room I had was also very comfortable and clean. Everyone there was so helpful and friendly as well.

The property in some areas is outdated. However, the staff makes us for this in their great service and friendliness. The property is in an area that is in walking distance to the Botero park and two famous museums. However there are many homeless and shady individuals in the vicinity. Although I enjoyed my stay I would not recommend staying in this area.

The hotel it is in a good location for a day walk to downtown and shopping but at night is not too good for for a kids stay or even adults walk, the hotel needs a lot of renovations it’s old and dirty seems like they don’t take care of it, there is no a parking spot for free available, there is a parking charge next door to the hotel .. the WiFi is not good at all, we didn’t have any connection the days we were there only on the lobby first floor .. need a a lot of renovations and attention for the owner ..

The hotel is definitely aging, in needs of repairs and serious updating, but it has so much charm, amazing views and potential. The location alone is unbeatable being right across from Plaza Botero and the Museum of Antioquia, plus the metro lines 1 and 2 very close by. Yes the area is rough in general (there are heavy presence of police and military until after dark to help a bit,) but that's sadly the reality in most downtowns these days in even in the nicest cities in N. America! For the value, experience and convenience, this hotel is well worth a stay. There's a little street shop across the street (and down a short block) that sells amazing huge Colombian tamales and a decadent dish with rice, bean and pulled pork that are mouth-watering and cheap :D
