First, RoseAnn and Duane are amazing! They truly couldn't be kinder or more generous ...or funnier. :) They (and their pups) made me feel at home as soon as I pulled into the driveway and I felt like family pretty quickly. (I stayed for 3 weeks.)
RoseAnn had asked me ahead of time what I ate for breakfast (fruit and yogurt with tea) and she had plenty of it ready for me every day (when I wasn't picking my own grapes!!) ... along with snacks and whatever else she could think of. She was always made sure to ask if I needed anything before she went to the market.
The farm/property itself is gorgeous with mountain views all around. Along with grapes, we also picked blackberries and plums, and RoseAnn taught me how to make jam. (I'm now the proud owner of at least a year's worth - hahaha!!) Also, Duane always had tons of fresh zucchini, tomatoes and basil on the counter from the garden next to the deck.
Speaking of the deck, there are two families of deer that visit every day to eat the acorns, apples and whatever else they can reach. :) I spent a lot of time sitting on the deck just watching them.
Their farm is pretty rural, which is exactly what I was looking for -- tons of cows and horses on the neighboring farms. It's about a 20-minute drive to town and just under 40 to Ashland, where I spent a lot of time. They're also easy access to Lake of the Woods, Klamath Lake, and Crater Lake --- all stunning!
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and feel like I've made some new family-like friends!
p.s. I was traveling with my cat and they were extremely accommodating!
