Road to the property was terrible, unpaved, rocky and in the middle of nowhere, a detail that should have been mentioned in the listing. My friend got a food poisoning form there and we property doesn’t take credit card as paiement for food.

This is such a spectacular location, the rooms are unique, large and nestled in the forest. The hotel is currently run by a very small staff, so if you love a natural, at home atmosphere - you will love this. Fantastic trekking and boat rides available to take in the lovely natural surroundings.

Peace and quiet.
This was my second stay at Taman Wana. I just had to return to the garden of eden. Birds of all descriptions. Blooming trees, jungle insects, lizards and lots of bats. Really super. The staff are very helpful and I was the only guest for 3 days. Peace and quiet. And not only that, I was able to attend the 77th Anniversary of the only Catholic Church in Palasario. What a jewel. I heard that they are closing soon. Thats too bad for me. Now where do I find another garden of eden?

Beautiful Location
I enjoyed the time I spent at the Taman Wana Villas. It was a real contrast to the busy streets of Kuta. The staff were lovely and so was the room which had a fantastic view of the lake.

Excellent Getaway
Nice secluded getaway. Great scenery and very relaxing atmosphere. Staff was great and very friendly. If you don't mind being a bit far from the nearby town, this place is excellent.

Not a great stay...
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and only accessible through a tiny street with no street lights (whoever will drive you there will have to do it before the sun goes down). Unfortunately the infinity pool wasn't working when we arrived. At checkout we asked a partial refund and we only received it after a long negotiation with the manager. The breakfast wasn't good (food wasn't fresh at all). Overall the hotel looks good but it doesn't provide the amenities and services that a facility is such isolated place should allow you to enjoy. I would not recommend this hotel.

best place for resting
I stayed 7 nights there, very nice location apart from all the cloud noice. big room also has twice cleaning for our room, nice staff with limit English though. Excellent Manager helps us a lot, took us to city to supermarket shopping, gave us some fruits when we can't go out to buy, organised all the things we want, and took us to try the local food. Nice Villages around, so won't that bord if you know how to fishing, ride bike or motorbike. Best View and quiet, if you want resting a while, this is the one you need even it's far away from airport but nothing to worry just contact the hotel they can organise the transport. Best place for Honeymoon people. We had our best time in there, we will back!

Fabulous resort in luxurient surroundings
After the terrible traffic of the road towards Java, it was a lovely relief to pass through the green, peaceful countryside that surrounds Taman Wana. A fabulous welcome awaited, where staff knew our names, welcomed us with cooling drinks and refreshing towels on the beautiful terrace with stunning views over the lake, mountains and forests. The huge room, entirely panelled in wood, a large stone bathroom, wonderful bed, comfortable sitting areas both inside and out on the wraparound balcony with panoramic views to the sea and Java, were perfect. The restaurant, library/lounge area that overlooks the infinity pool, lake and gardens was not only spectacular, but the food excellent and service impeccable, including turning down the bed while we enjoyed dinner. During a basket weaving class, we enjoyed the chance to talk with the staff and get to know the warm and capable Ms. Putri. As we both agreed, due to the climate keeping up the buildings, walks and gardens is an enormous task. Nature grows exuberantly. Still the effect is of exotic contrasts, never to be forgotten. We want to thank Putri for sharing her insights into Bali culture and showing us some of the hidden gems in this lesser known area of Bali. Suksma!

Unforgetable experience
Advantages: -Wonderful location: in the middle of jungle, very peaceful and quiet place, amazing views, perferct for honey moon and meditation; - Excellent service, friendly and hardworking staff; - Cleanliness of the hotel and the room, room cleaning 2-3 times a day; - Nice swimming pool; - Good massage; - Nice walking pathways through the rain forest and surrounding villages; - Fishing in the lake near the hotel; - Nil annoying mosquitos or flies. Disadvantages: - Remoteness, 4 hours driving from the airport through terrible traffic; - No telephone, no Internet, no Wi-Fi ( According to the manager, it was a temporary problem); - Meals could be better and cheaper; - The Spa is overpriced. Overall, it was very pleasant to stay in this beautiful place.

Could have been fantastic bot NO!!!!
There were to many things not working that made us decide to leave. The menues were old and incorrect, the pool and pool area was very dirty, the wifi was bad and we could not pay with our credit card. They told us about all the different breakfast they had but they did not tell us we had to pay extra for almost everything. We tried to use the canoe but the path down was to risky and the canoe did not look safe. They wanted us to pay 500.000 rupies and go on a city tour when all we wanted was to go down to the beach as their website said they could arrange for free. Thats why we decide to leave them as soon as we could, we had booked three night but left Afternoon one! I am sorry about all of this as their resort could have been a paradise and it made us so disapointed it was a wreck! Do not blame the staff, they for sure did the best they could do under the circumstances

Hotel in prachtige omgeving
Eten is redelijk. Het beste zijn de Indonesische gerechten. Al met al een mooi gelegen hotel als je tot rust wil komen

Horrible place
Where to start?! Everything were so wrong that it ever could go. This place was horrible and should been shutdown a while ago. We felt very screwed up to booked this hotel. Don’t look at the hotels website, everything there is a big lie. Pictures are at least 10 years old and stories about activities are also only an advertise, nothing is a true. Having a Spa? -There were any! Having a Bicycling? Bikes were broken! We had booked 7 nights but stayed only 1 night. We loose very big money but it was more safety to go away than stay. Buildings were very old, bad conditions, I mean like broken. For example every lights was broken so we needed to use our own mobile light to get back to our room at night. There were lots of spiders, mosquitos, flies, ants and other bugs. Ok, we were at the jungle but can I please ask not to have those bugs in the room inside. The hotel area was very dirty including also room and pool area. Pool looked so awful that we couldn’t even go there. Food was bad and very expensive and Menu included only a few variations. Yes there were breakfast including, but nobody told us, that it is only an Indonesian breakfast. The were only a few people working as a staff. They tried to be nice but sorry to tell that there were no professional at all. I don’t blame them I blame the manager. Everything what we asked, staff had to ask for the manager. Manager says always no. The staff had rules what to follow but no allowed to make good customer service.
