We attended our first AO and Ovolo South Yarra was the perfect place for us! Rooms are smaller than the typical but this is a boutique hotel and it delivered as such. We love the well designed rooms, very clean, complete amenities, eco-sustainable options. The staff was incredibly lovely, quality of food at the restaurant was high but reasonably priced. The game room and lounge downstairs was impeccably designed and such a cool place to hang. We never needed to use our car so garaged approximately 2 blocks away and paid only $6/day after the hotel discount. The free trams around the city and in and out of the tennis venues were so convenient. LOVE THIS HOTEL. Will book again for next year’s AO!

The Ovolo South Yarra hotel is a gem. Very cool, tongue-in-cheek arty hotel that doesn’t take itself too seriously but takes great care of its guests. Our reservation included breakfast (excellent) and a bottle of wine (also excellent). We were also upgraded to a Sonny & Cher Suite which was fabulous. Great location in South Yarra with lots within walking distance. We will definitely return to the Ovolo South Yarra if we have the opportunity!

The staff were very welcoming and the property and room interiors are a vibe! My room had a very nice layout, I had a corner room. A few hours into my stay I realised I had reserved and paid for a 'city view' room but had no view of the city. Also, my room was very dusty and the shower still has some left over shampoo/soap on the tile was very nice to see.

Funky and quirky little place. Supposedly a “Small Luxury Hotel”. Room was small and had lots of stuff to buy but no simple amenities you’d expect from a luxury hotel (slippers, robes, toothbrush, iron/board). I’m sure it’s all in the name of “sustainability”. And the air con was not working sufficiently - the corridors were cool but the room certainly wasn’t. Despite contacting the front desk 4 times about the issue we were never offered a different room. They supposedly “reset” the aircon several times. Breakfast was included in our rate but it only includes one plate from the menu, a hot drink and one juice. That’s of course in the fine print. Everything else costs extra but nobody explicitly tells you and you get only hit with that at checkout. One morning we arrived 10 minutes before the end of the breakfast window. We got that breakfast served with a generous side of attitude. Will not return. Ever.
