We stayed in the red truck and was very comfortable from bed to nice hot shower.The hotel is beautiful in a old,unquiet way with lovely fire,set among beautiful scenery.Amazing meal at great price

Staying in the old trucks is a unique experience. Very easy being just behind the hotel. The bedding needs to be updated and some maintenance - bathroom heating not working Still a nice place to spend a weekend

We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and its ensuite. It also had a shared kitchen facility that was very handy. Beautiful hiking trails. We were very happy that we decided to stay the night at Melrose, and we recommend the North Star Hotel.

The North Star Inn is a lovely place to stay. This was our second stay in this same room. Melrose is conveniently positioned to break up the drive from Port Lincoln to Adelaide. The room with ensuite bathroom is spacious, clean and well appointed. The location in Melrose is ideal with easy access to the North Star Inn (obviously) and other venues in the area. We recommend this accommodation.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in one of the balcony rooms.Comfortable queen size bed, renovated ensuite. Effective split system reverse cycle air conditioner. Shared kitchenette provided cereal, juice, tea/coffee and bread/ spreads. It was lovely to sit on the balcony on rustic canvas chairs eating breakfast and watching the world go by. Pub meal next door was delicious!

Got put into a dirty room that wasn't cleaned. Pointed it out and got moved into a cleaned room. Heater didn't work properly. Black mould in the bathroom above the shower. Expected more for $150 a night. I wouldn't go back or recommend this place.

Unique is a word that would cover this property!! It is in need of some tlc & a good clean. Room was dingy. Shower head fell off. Bed creaked so not much sleep. Broken chairs on the bacony along with a collection of bottles from previous visitors. Kitchen - didn't use it. Decor looks like something from the 60s/70s.

Amazing little spot and definitely worth the trip Staff were friendly and accommodating, they helped us with any questions we had. Rooms were better than expected, extremely spacious and so cozy. 1000/10
