We enjoyed waking around exploring city. During our stay we also visited Chechen Itza, Uxmal and had a cenotes tour. Everywhere we went people were friendly and we felt quite safe. We would happily recommend visiting.
Mérida Centro is known for its abundant dining options, and you can plan a trip to Plaza Grande and Mérida Cathedral while you're in town.
While visiting Zona Paseo Montejo, you might make a stop by sights like Paseo de Montejo and Paseo 60.
If you're spending some time in Chelem, Chelem Park is a top sight worth visiting.
Travellers like the beaches in Chicxulub Puerto, and Playa Uaymitun is a top attraction you might want to visit.
Historical sites, archaeological sites and restaurants are some highlights of Uxmal. Make a stop by Pyramid of the Magician or Uxmal Archaeological Site while you're exploring.
While Puerto Yucalpetén may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Progreso Beach and Progreso Pier.

Beautiful city, fantastic food and friendly people
I would recommend using Uber if you need a taxi anywhere it will be half the price of normal taxis, especially from airport.
Free airport transfer is great if you are between flights like we were.
