Worst night ever!
I rarely leave comments or reviews but it's important that travelers know one thing when considering a stay at Coral Gables Inn: you won't be able to sleep! The motel is located along the US 1 which is a 6 lanes highway with a huge traffic 24/24. Furthermore a train runs every 5 minutes a few meters in front of the building (check any online map!). Impossible to sleep! It's unbelievable that such a place can exist! The worst night that we had to pay for, and we are very frequent travelers!!! Now, it's up to you...

Do not even consider this Place
After reading previous reviews I booked and paid for this Hotel. We arrived at midnight to find a sign in the tiny lobby that literally read No refunds after 15 minutes. The Hotel is old which would not be a problem, but it is run-down, dirty, and not at all what I was expecting. My daughter and I left immediately and stayed at a more acceptable hotel about a mile away.

The Gables Inn is reasonably priced, is conveniently located near the U, and has plenty of parking. They give exactly what is promised for a good price. The TV Channel selection is good, too.

Great location! The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Parking very tight an it's right on the busy road. The price was good but still high for the room.

Stayed for a night before driving to Key West
My girlfriend and I arrived late the night before a drive to Key West and found the staff and check-in process very laid-back and straight forward. The room was basic and a little dated, but clean and the AC was strong so really no complaints. Everything worked as advertised, we had a nice night's sleep and complimentary breakfast out on the patio downstairs. I'd certainly return.

Fun birthday weekend away
Me and a friend were attending Ultra Music Festival and found this place not too far away. It was just down the street from the metro rail which we got on and took to a metro mover that ended right at Bayfront Park where we needed to be. I would stay here again!

The Gables Inn is a very well located basic hotel. The staff is always very helpful. The rooms are clean, spacious and have all the basic amenities. The location is right next to US 1, so it can be somewhat noisy.

OK hotel good location
For getting to downtown coconut grove or university of miami, this is a good location. The rooms were clean, but the tiled floors had like a soap scum across them. bring bath sandals. It's time to change the bedding and put a lamp in the room. If you only need a place to lay your head, this works.No frills.

Just a Night
I was only in Miami for just a night and needed something reasonable. For the price of what I paid and being close to all the "happenings", it was okay. I prefer rooms with carpet. This one did not have any. It was a good thing that I brought along my bed rooms shoes. The staff was nice, and I was not too far away from the stores and restaurants.

Quick Overnight
I was in town to take my daughter, who goes to the U, out to dinner. The location was perfect as the hotel is right across he street from the university. There are no amenities, the room is vey cold and bare, but there is a bed and a bathroom, which is really all you need. The TV works, but the picture is snowy. Not good enough to watch. The hotel does have wifi but it didn't appear on my iPad til I typed in the name. The service was intermittent which made streaming video frustrating. Choose wisely; this hotel was fine for my needs but I knew I was going to be in and out with little time in the room.

stay away from this hotel!
the rooms were very nasty. there were stains and dirt on the floor under the sink behind the toilet. The tub was dirty. the shower head was completely encrusted with gunk. Unfortunately I touched it and it made me want to hurl(excuse the expression). did not feel at all at ease to sleep there. I took pictures. Do not stay there. Was not worth 2 cents per night for sure. we were supposed to stay for two nights. We looked else where for lodging for the second evening. It was mostly upsetting because we were not familiar with the area and could not find available lodging anywhere in that vicinity. However lucky for us we were able to get into a Holiday Express about 50 miles or more south of there. They offered free continental breakfast in the lobby and it was served at table were there was no room and people were eating at the same table they served at.....Gross.... they deserve no stars..just my opinion
