The inside of the property was beautiful but it is in a rougher part of town. Was unhappy with the weirdly late check-in time and early check-out policy. Was awoken very early every morning by cleaners vacuuming our hall and other guests leaving in the morning. Maybe due to the age of the property there is just very little sound proofing. Staff was nice enough. The bed was super comfortable.

From the moment I walked into my room a started coughing and had a runny nose. I am an extremely healthy person who goes to the gym 7 days a week and boxing twice a week. There was so much condensation running down the windows that I could not see out them. Every time I left the room I could breathe fine, as soon as I got back the coughing started again. Also there is no elevator which was inconvenient as I was in town for a cruise and had a fair bit of luggage. There was also a group of people drinking in chairs right outside the front door. They were not rude or anything, but they were always there smoking and drinking. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I would never stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night to catch a cruise in the morning. When we arrived the area looked sketchy and there were homeless people heckling us outside. You can't enter the lobby without being buzzed in which is good but tells you about how safe the area is. The hotel, halls and rooms had a strong pine sol, perfume smell, so bad that it gave me a headache and I am not sensitive to scents, it was just too much. The room was outdated so even though it was clean, it looked dirty. It reminded me of an old apartment building converted into hotel rooms. The walls were very thin. The bed was comfortable but not the pillows, they were hard and I had a sore neck in the morning. The breakfast included was terrible. Little sausages straight from the can. There was no place to eat so you had to take a tray to your room and there was one little desk so my husband had to eat on the bed leaned over the night stand. The staff were friendly. I would not stay here again, even just to sleep for 1 night.

The outside of this property was not promising. The lobby had bizarre (not horrible, but strange smell). However, our room was charming. The bed, linens, and pillows were great. We appreciated the full-wall blackout curtains as the street lights were right outside our window. The shower and toiletries were nice and breakfast was perfect. We felt safe enough walking to the main dining and entertainment area during the day; however, would not recommend walking in the dark. It was approximately an $8 uber ride to the Bayside area. Definitely note that there is not an elevator and rooms are upstairs, so if stairs are challenging this may not be your best option. Overall, it was a great boutique feel and met our needs for our overnight stay.

I was a little concerned prior to arriving given the poor reviews that this place has but I can confidently say myself and my group really enjoyed our stay here. You have to scan a key card or press a button to be let into the lobby so definitely felt safe and secure. The rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful. Fantastic location in downtown Miami - for the price you truly can’t beat it. Would stay again!
