The region’s capital city of Viborg lies in an area of rolling green hills. Drive just south of the city to see the pretty spring-fed lake of Hald Sø and the hills of Dollerup Bakkur. Hald Hovedgård provides a reminder of Denmark’s homes of the late 1700s.
Ringkøbing-Skjern is the westernmost municipality of Midtjylland, with lovely natural attractions along its coastline. Come for the Sandskulpturfestival i Soendervig during the summer to see amazingly detailed sand sculptures. Tour Ringkøbing’s gardens featuring hostas and roses. At Hvide Sande relax on sandy beaches of the North Sea or the Ringkøbing Fjord.
