"The Layfette is a historic hotel so it comes with the quirkiness of age. The floors squeak and the rooms are more compact but that is just part of the experience of staying in a hotel from another era. Our room had a newly redone bath and shower in a period black and white tile that fit the theme. The best surprise of the two-day visit was the breakfast. "I was new to the area. The Chalet was 20-30 minutes from so many of the hiking spots I was hoping to check out. The cabin was clean, warm, and comfortable. It is older and the appliances while not new all worked. The hot tub was perfectly hot! It has one master bedroom and a great loft for bunking children. The host was very responsive to all my questions, especially when I was a little lost upon arrival, as it was in the dark in the woods. He responded immediately to help Me get into the cabin...
