Other things to note
Killorglin town is famous for its annual August festival Puck Fair held on the 10th, 11th and 12th of August. Puck Fair is one of Ireland’s oldest festivals. Every year a goat catcher goes up into the mountains to catch a wild goat. The goat is brought back to the town and the “Queen of Puck”, traditionally a young school girl from one of the local primary schools, crowns the goat “King Puck“.
On August 10th, The “King” is then paraded through the town before being elevated onto a high stand in the town square for three days. On the 3rd day of the fair, he is brought down to be led back to his mountain home. In the middle of the town square, he is crowned which signifies that the festivities may begin.

The beds are cosy and comfortable with goose down quilts, cotton bedding and luxurious mattresses.

Lovely property and host
Absolutely lovely break in this gorgeous part of the world- making some dreams come true for some of our family members. The property is very well equipped and in a beautiful area with stunning views . The host is very responsive and incredibly helpful and went out of her way to make a table reservation for us at a nearby excellent restaurant (Bianconi) for the evening of our arrival . Would definitely stay in Thai property again .

Great House
This house was perfect for my family of 7 that traveled to Ireland. We don't like your typical busy tourist areas so wanted to stay close but not in town. The location was perfect as we were able to drive 20 minutes to all of the locations we wanted to visit. Host provided several dinner recommendations and even made reservations for us at an amazing restaurant.

Great stay in Killorglin
We really enjoyed Elizabeth’s home. The views were wonderful, the home relaxing and comfortable. The walk into town was easy- although the walk back up the hill was challenging ( no fault of Betty’s haha) The location couldn’t have been better for the day excursions and it’s nice to be able to leave and return at will. Next time we are in County Kerry we will definitely visit again!

Bad communication
Owner was hard to reach. Changed to WhatsApp as we arrived and we didn’t have the app. Then when problems arose (no hot water) they were very hard to reach and solve the issue. The listed “problem solver” no longer worked for them so that was another dead end. Spent part of vacay messing with 2 day water issue that wasn’t solved before we left. Room for improvement.

What a Great Place & Location
This house proved to be perfect for our visit to the Ring of Kerry area. The house was very clean, the bedrooms were nice and the beds very comfortable. But it was the views from the patio area that set this location apart. We had beautiful views of the mountains (and the highest mountain in Ireland). Sometimes the clouds covered the mountains, other times the mountains were clear and the fog was down in the valleys. The kitchen was spacious and a great place for us to gather (three couples). There is actually a sofa in the kitchen and it was my favorite inside place in the evening. Access to the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry could not have been more convenient. A short drive down the Ring of Kerry took us to a beach with wonderful sunset views over the water. Betty (the owner) was easy to get in touch with and quick to respond to our questions. If you are coming to this part of Ireland....stay here.

If you like the beautiful rolling countryside of SW Ireland (who doesn't?) this is the place. From the house you can see fields, hills and mountains. And from this location you can get to Dingle, Ring of Kerry and many other great attractions. The house is really nice--the kitchen is well-equipped with a great view, the bedrooms are comfortable and easily usable/

A great place to stay for the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Penninsula and Killarney
The house was great and the owner was very accommodating and helpful. The kitchen was very well stocked with whatever utensils and equipment you need to prepare meals. The beds were extremely comfortable and the view of the mountains was fantastic. The owner provided information on local restaurants and things to do. All of which were as described. If you stay at this house you will not be disappointed. We expect to return to Ireland and will definitely schedule to stay here again. We stayed at 6 different homes during our trip in Ireland and this home was a favorite.

The home has the comforts of home such as washer/dryer, full kitchen, and 3 well appointed bedrooms. Fabulous Home in a Great Location!
It seems that we were only the second HomeAway visitors that Betty has hosted, and the first to complete a review, so here goes. First, and most importantly for HomeAway travelers, the home is exactly as shown in the pictures. Well, that is, except that the pictures don't begin to do it justice. It's all well and good to say that the views are spectacular, but the property delivers in spades. The bedrooms are large and airy, the baths clean and light, the living room warm and cozy, and the kitchen-dining room area simply stunning. There are adequate dishes, linens, and other stuff to feed and sleep a dozen or so folks without having to wash up every few minutes. On the other hand, the original description of the property (since changed) said there were four bedrooms. As it turns out, the ground floor bedroom is being used as the owner's storage space. It was a surprise to find no access to the fourth bedroom, but the remaining three were more than adequate. We give it an A for infrastructure and value. The location is on the Ring of Kerry and only a few miles from the Dingle Loop. We did both from Betty's place, and it was a pleasure. Killorglin Town is home to several excellent restaurants, and Jack's Coastguard Restaurant on nearby Cromane Strand is world-class. We give it an A+ for location. We had the singular pleasure of spending time with the housekeepers, comparing notes and making suggestions. They have a great sense of humor and are very personable, but, more importantly, have a clear understanding how a HomeAway should be maintained. There were a few hiccups that can be attributed to this being a new listing, and which should be well under control directly. We give it an A for cleanliness and maintenance. All that said, the views are why you need to stay here. This setting is a rare jewel. Sit outside with your coffee and admire the mountains. Take your lunch outside and smell the green. Have your dram of p'cheen in the twilight with the birdsong. It's deliriously romantic there. In short, very highly recommended. Thanks, Betty, for sharing your home with us!

Great location, house needs maintenance
We enjoyed the views and the large garden a lot. Also this house is located very strategically for the ring of kerry highlights and the dingle peninsula. We could make a lot of daytrips by car with the kids through the amazing environment. The house itself was cleaned but not clean when we arrived. The house is fully stocked with everything we needed. It is in need of some repairs and upgrading. Outdoor furniture needs to be replaced as well and was not safe for small children. All in all we had a great stay but you pay a lot for the views where as the house needs upgrading and cleaning.
