Not just an overnight stop this is a destination in its own right. Room and hotel is beautiful and really well designed with beautiful furniture and art. We had the room with the four poster bed and views from 4 windows.the windows have original wooden window shutters. There is also a great restaurant . Outside is the historic Porlock Weir and a pub! Quality.
Fabulous boutique hotel with many nice small touches, such as quality bathing products and complimentary chilled water. Decent sized room, comfy bed with proper pillows and lovely sea view. Dinner was great too.
We already know and love this area well but have never stayed here before. Lovely welcome, comfy bed, no prob with our two dogs staying. The breakfast was superb. All in all we had a relaxing stay and would love to go back next year.
Very friendly welcome. Comfortable, clean room with great view of the sea. Good amenities provided in room. En suite bath and electric shower. Lovely breakfast. Restaurant now closed for renovation and we understand hotel will close for room renovation over winter 2017/18. Local pub serves great food.
Stayed for 2 nights. Ate dinner in the restaurant on one night food was wonderful, lovely atmosphere. Room was very spacious and had everything you would need. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. .Lovely choice for breakfast and all well cooked. We will definitely return.
Rooms are a little dated. Strange mix of styles, not quite in keeping with the age of the house. Needs updating but clean and comfortable. Pleasant for short stay

Beautiful location.
A couple of hiccups left us less impressed than we might have been:
-Great food (except for there being hardly any crab at all on our crab sandwiches) Oysters were amazing though and breakfast was good.
-Rather surprisingly, we were never asked whether we had enjoyed our food or stay so we were left feeling that there was little effort in customer service or that no-one was interested.
Overall, it was probably what we expected for the price.
We stayed in a bedroom with no view but it was cheap so no complaints are all, staff were friendly and helpful, the cafe is in a perfect location in the village, breakfast was excellent. We will stay there again soon but go for a room with a sea view, highly recommended!!
The location is fantastic. The welcome was friendly and helpful. The room could do with a small fridge to put the fresh milk into.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable sadly but the stay overall was great and the breakfast very fresh and tasty
