Wander about the grounds of Mini Siam and take in scaled-down versions of some of Thailand’s most iconic structures. The impressive pagodas of Wat Phra, (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha), as well as Wat Arun and Wat Mahathart are all recreated with painstaking attention to detail. Pose for a picture next to other Thai monuments such as Bangkok’s Victory Tower and theMarble Throne Hall, before surveying the historical park of Ayutthaya for a unique glimpse of the Thailand’s ancient capital.
The park’s title is slightly misleading, as it features iconic structures from all around the world. After touring Thailand, visit the Mini Europe area, where you can stretch towards the top of the Eiffel Tower, or lean against Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa. Look out for monuments from your own country among the many 1:25 scale models you’ll find the Statue of Liberty from America, Tower Bridge from London, the Arc de Triumph from France and the Opera House from Sydney.
You can easily spend an afternoon browsing and photographing the impressive replicas within Mini Siam. The grounds are a pleasant place to stroll around, with carefully planted gardens and several water features helping to keep the temperature down. Afternoons do get hot, and you’ll find free umbrellas at reception if you require some shade. Evening can often be the best time to visit, when the air cools and the monuments magically light up for night.
Mini Siam is located in the Pattaya Klang area of the city and is easily accessible by Songthaew (shared taxis). The park is open daily, and do note that there is a separate charge for locals and tourists.
