Lisbon was our last stop after being in Portugal for 10 days. Although our stay at Esqina was fine, it was not as cozy as I was hoping it would be. I can't ding them on ratings, and I haven't stayed in other hotels in Lisbon, but it didn't feel like a 4 star hotel based on other places I've stayed in Europe. The bathroom was tiny and the lighting was odd. It felt more like a basic travel lodge, versus a cosmopolitan hotel. With that said, the location was great, breakfast was good.

I checked in on my 40th birthday and the front desk had upgraded my room without even requesting. We went out for dinner and the room was decorated with local bottle of bubbles, cake, chocolates and lavender pouches. Really made my day special! The indoor pool is nice with warm water!
