Everything about this little boutique hotel was perfect. Only a small number of rooms, but with plenty of friendly staff for everything you need. Quiet & serene, a home away from home - but only 5 mins a (free) tuktuk to get to the town & beach.

D Canal was the highlight of our hotel stays in Sri Lanka. The decoration at the hotel was beautiful and unique. The chef made his own Mango, papaya and lime jam which was to die for. It was definitely the tastiest breakfast we had during our trip. The pool was very relaxing and the staff couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. There is a free tuk, tuk to and from the property from 10am to 7pm which was very generous. I wish we had stayed longer and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful property, very well decorated and surrounded by nature. It is a little far from main road in Mirissa but honestly that was a plus, they offer a free tuk tuk to/from main road and I much prefer the quietness and secluded area where the DCanal is located. Very good breakfast, super friendly staff and a very authentic experience. Loved everything about it!

The staff is Super nice, very helpful and quick to respond (usually could contact them over WhatsApp and got answers within minutes). The tuktuk service to the main road is a very nice thing to have, tho' we usually walked, wich wasn't that bad either. The rooms were big and nice, the pool area was also very nice. Would stay again if I were in Mirissa.

D Canal house is a lovely place to stay. They are offering free tuc tuc from 8AM-7PM which is needed since it is 20 minutes walk from the beach. The team around D Canal house is stunning! First of all a huge thank you to the team; Milan, Dinudu and Pryinka for making our stay amazing. This is by far the best hotel in Mirissa and you receive a five star service. He accommodation is super clean and the rooms are well equipped, spacious and beautifully decorated. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the pool area so tranquil. I would highly recommend.

Excellent hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. I spent two nights here and everything about the hotel was great. The room was clean and spacious with a large balcony. The breakfast was excellent and the swimming pool is lovely. The hotel is set in a mini oasis with plants and trees everywhere which are lit up a night. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the main road however the hotel provide a free Tuk tuk service to the main road until 7pm. I never felt unsafe walking back to the hotel at night and all the locals are very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and would like to say a big thank you to Pria and the rest of the staff who made me feel very welcome during my stay and also organised an early morning canal tour along the canal which backs onto the hotel where I saw a variety of birds as well as water monitors.

Peaceful stay in jungle-like surroundings
We stayed for five wonderful nights at D Canal House and had the feeling of living in the middle of the jungle. Every day, we relaxed in the nice and cozy pool area of the hotel while spotting exotic birds and other animals. The breakfast was really good, and the staff (Milan and Briaya) were absolutely fantastic. Their way of being contributed to making the overall experience absolutely perfect. In the evening, we could safely walk through the local area to Mirissa (15 minutes) to have dinner, but the hotel also offers free tuk-tuk service to the main road in Mirissa between 10 AM and 7 PM. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in peaceful and jungle-like surroundings, yet still within walking distance to the city life and the beach in Mirissa.

Lovely hotel in Mirissa
My girlfriend and I stayed at D Canal House for almost a week, and we are very satisfied. The hotel is secluded from the main street but offered free TukTuk to and from which was incredibly helpful. The place was quiet and peaceful in the evenings and nights. The hotel had a relaxing environment with lots of vegetation which the staff looked after well. All staff were extremely helpful. They helped with everything from transport bookings to excursions and even arranging packed breakfast if needed. Their knowledge of the area was extensive and they recommended local restaurants and places worth visiting. They were available for any questions. The rooms were nice and had all the amenities you needed. The breakfast was good and prepared from scratch. Everything felt genuine and they always wanted our best. We are very satisfied with our stay and the genuine experience. We would love to return to D Canal House!

Some pluses, some minuses
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Willing to make any arrangements we needed, which was super helpful. Away from the beach which was nice and quiet. Free tuktuk use to the junction was a bonus. Swimming pool was like a hot tub- not at all refreshing - rather just for getting wet then getting out before overheating so that the breeze could cool us off. Room was massive. Bed was comfortable - loved the mossie net around the bed. Room did not get made up or cleaned during our two night stay. Towels were a bit smelly once they were used. Curtains across the doors and windows were badly hung (? Falling off) making them very very hard to open, so gave up. Lighting in the rooms is horrible to actually try and see by, would probably call them romantically dim. Shower was great. Breakfast was a good selection. Lovely garden.

Super liebes Personal und tolles Frühstück (die Pancakes waren der Wahnsinn). Das Hotel liegt etwas abgelegen, aber der Tuk Tuk Service hat super geklappt und wurde von uns auch immer in Anspruch genommen. Die Anlage ist sehr schön und grün gestaltet. Mit den Tiergeräuschen abends fühlt man sich wie im Dschungel, mal eine ganz neue Erfahrung!

Fantastiskt!
Fantastiskt litet hotell som är beläget på en naturskön och lugn plats en liten bort från stranden. Hotellet har en tuktuk som tar dig från hotellet till huvudgatan och tillbaka gratis. Alla som arbetar på hotellet är supertrevliga och hjälpsamma med allt man kan behöva. Allt är superfräscht och rent. Antalet gäster är väldigt begränsat, så det känns lite som att ha stället för sig själv. Skulle rekommendera D Canal House till alla som vill ha en lugn plats att bo på, och koppla av där aporna besöker din balkong på morgonen och du vaknar upp till ljudet från naturen.
