Casa La Olla is a very comfortable detached vacation home with a pool for 1 to 6 persons with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in a protected rural area east of Málaga in the Axarquía region of Andalusia in Spain. Offering privacy and stunning views, the villa is set in its own 17,000 m2 plot in one of the sunniest areas in Europe.
The house, terraces and pool have breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Bay of Malaga (also very beautiful when it is dark and the lights of the city can be seen), its surrounding hills and a green valley.
In about 30 minutes you are in the center of Málaga, in 35 minutes at the airport of Málaga and in 15 minutes on the beach of the Costa del Sol. The white village of Moclinejo with, among other things, a bakery, a supermarket , restaurant Reyes and a bar, is within walking distance (1 km).
The house (150 m2) is accessed by a staircase that leads to the very spacious and sunny terrace (100 m2) located on the east, south and west side of the house. For the safety of small children or pets, the terrace can be closed with a fence. On the terrace are a dining area and a covered lounge area and there are several lounge chairs. From the terrace you have a wide view of the Mediterranean Sea, the Bay of Malaga and its surrounding hills and a green valley. In clear weather you can see Africa and Gibraltar.
The views can also be fully enjoyed from the spacious living room adjacent to the terrace and the master bedroom. In the living room is a sitting area with two sofas, an armchair, a fireplace, a screen with satellite reception (including English and foreign TV and radio channels), a Blu-ray/DVD player, Google Chromecast, Netflix etc. The cupboards contain books (travel guides, cookbooks and literature), DVDs, games and puzzles. There is also a dining area with a large dining table.
There is also a dining table in the kitchen. The kitchen and a utility room are fully equipped including a four-burner gas stove, an electric oven, a microwave, a large fridge-freezer, a second refrigerator, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a Quickmill Espresso machine, a Senseo machine, a filter coffee maker, a bread maker and extensive kitchen utensils. From the utility room a shaded terrace on the north side of the vacation villa can be reached. On this terrace is a large clothes dryer for laundry.
The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a double sink, tub, shower, bidet and toilet. The large double bed in the master bedroom consists of two separate box-spring beds of 0.90 m by 2.00 m with a thick, comfortable mattress of 1.80 by 2.00 m. The beds can be set up as two single beds if necessary. The second bedroom has the same bed combination with a mattress of 1.80 x 2.00 m. The third bedroom has two single box-spring beds of 0.90 x 2.00 m. The second and third bedrooms share a second bathroom with sink, shower and toilet.
A crib and high chair for young kids are available.
In the bedrooms are air conditioners that cool and can also heat. In the living room, kitchen and large bathroom is underfloor heating (or cooling) connected to a heat pump with digital thermostat. The living room can also be heated in winter by the wood fireplace.
The swimming pool (5 x 9 m) is located in front of the house on the south side. The pool is 1.25 m deep making it suitable not only for cooling and swimming, but also for (ball) games (in the barn is a volleyball net). Around the pool is a partially covered terrace with sun beds and armchairs. Under the (lit) roof are a barbecue and a dining table.
The house is detached but not isolated and is easily accessible via a paved road on which only local traffic drives. It is set on its own plot of 17,000 m2, of which the lower part is fairly flat; here are the villa and the swimming pool. The garden is surrounded by flowers, bird sounds and, among other things, olive, almond and lemon trees, old Spanish oak trees and cypresses. Near the pool, a hammock hangs between olive trees.
From Casa La Olla it is wonderful walking in the valley and the adjacent valleys. At 100 meters away runs the GR 242 (Gran Senda de la Axarquia) , a beautiful hiking trail (of another 7.7 km) to Rincon de La Victoria on the coast.
