The hotel is a very old fashioned place, frozen in time. Rooms were clean but small and the bathrooms were very tight. However, the breakfast was very good and the city of Monschau is a must see, very picturesque little city, just lovely. Just a warning, everything closes early.

Grumpy non communicative host. Hotel old building but furnishings and bathroom facilities do not appear to have been updated in 40 years. Place nicely situated in a splendid old town

Enjoyed our stay!
Really enjoyed our stay here. It's period style both inside and out really added to the charm. They already had a baby bed setup in the room which was really nice. If you ask the owners, they'll say they don't speak English. However, they know enough English to be able to check you in and get you up and going so the language barrier was not an issue at all and the fellow we dealt with was very nice patient. The hotel is located centrally to old town Monschau and the value for the money is fantastic. Breakfast was good too.

Prefer "Monschau (...By Proxy!)"
The Hotel is old but well-kept, very small rooms and micro bathroom, very clean, but dated appointments. Owner is very German in his...standoffishness, wifi didn't work except in lobby (and for 6€!). Breakfast was decent. No parking near, barely a drop-off spot out front. Aside: The town was a disappointment. 4:50pm on a Tues in April saw all shops closing and no one polite, friendly, or interested in our tourist €. Chinese restaurant took pity on us finally. Not sure we understand the reason this place is so raved about. Not recommended.

Historic Hotel
Very old and stylish, despite being opposite church this was not obtrusive due to excellent double glazing. Whole village off beaten track, very quiet in Winter (when we visited) but I imagine very many tourists in Summer.

nice hotel in ancient building.
We enjoyed our stay one night in the center of Monchau. Not too expensive for a nice room with bathroom and toilet and good bed. We were surprised by a very nice breakfast with personal touch.

Lovely hotel lovely place
Just had a three night stay in monschau for the Christmas market the hotel Graf Rolschausen was ideal for us our only issue was the temperature of the shower either skin removing hot or arctic cold that aside the room was perfectly clean and very comfortable.

Historic Hotel in the heart of Monschau
Very historic building, walking distance to everything. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent and service was very friendly. The ambiance in the basement restaurant looked very nice although we did not eat there. We ate at a local pub that had an outstanding live music duo. Monschau is a hidden gem in the region.

My 7th stay in Monschau in 2 years, 5th time at the Graf Rols, great little hotel run by a lovely friendly couple who can't do enough for you, only been back in the Uk for 2 days and booked again for another 14 nights in 2 weeks time, living the dream!

Perfect location to wander about town and do some shopping. Bed very comfortable and breakfast was great.Right down the street from the mustard factory, so take the tour/tasting opportunity.

Thank you for the pleasant welcome
Due to a lot of construction and issues with our GPS we arrived late to the hotel. 10 PM. No one was at the hotel to let us in but had a map on the door showing where the owners/care takers home was. I felt horrible but went and rang the bell at the private residence so we could have a place to stay for the night that we had reserved already at the establishment. The woman answered the door bell and was very pleasant and came right down to let us into our room. She was pleasant and helpful. Greatly appreciated after a very long stressful drive! Also a nice breakfast and welcoming staff in the morning.

Good location in easy walking distance of everything in the village. Note parking is only available at the main parking areas but you can drive to the front door to drop off luggage.

One of a kind experience
Darling town, and the hotel fit right in. As others have said, you can't compare this to a Hilton. It is just a different experience. And none of the hotels in Old Town have parking--the town does not allow parking in old town, so there is little the hotels can do about it. It is a hassle, but worth the experience. And I guess you can rent a spot at the hotel. No, the concierge did not speak English and was not the warm, fuzzy type, but she also went out of her way to help us, accommodate our needs, and even brought breakfast upon a tray to my husband when she saw how difficult it was for him to walk the stairs. We did a lot of pantomiming, and with no English, we managed to converse to get the Wifi sign in and password, the parking info, borrow a hair dryer, and talk about other restaurant options when we got there late. There is no elevator, but the entire town is pretty unfriendly towards anyone with walking disabilities, so probably not the spot for you if that is the case. Otherwise, it was very fun. Would recommend.

Very old inn in a medieval village
This hotel is located in a very old building (400+ years old) that is in the middle of a very well preserved, scenic medieval village completed with a castle. We stayed in the lowest priced room- it was large and clean but was a bit dated in terms of decor. However, dated decor is to be expected when staying in an medieval village. The wireless internet was however, suprisingly strong.

Nice Hotel
The hotel itself was nice and actually listed as one of the attactions to see in the town. However, the sheets were dirty and the counter was sticky when we arrived. They changed the sheets the next day but it was still a little weird. The room was large compared to many European rooms. Staff was friendly despite the language barrier. Recommend staying at this hotel. It's also within walking distance from the main area of town. Very cute town.
