This is the 2nd time I have stayed here with my family and it is a great little place to stay when visiting Monterey and the surrounding areas. There is an REÍ, Target, and Starbucks across the street so we can stop and get anything we need. It is also easily accessible from the 1. My only complaint this last time we stayed was that there was a screaming child in one of the rooms on our floor and in the middle of the night I was woken up by someone stomping repeatedly across their room on the floor above us. However this is more to do with the discourtesy of the other guests than anything to do with the hotel itself. I would definitely stay here again (hopefully without overly loud other guests).

The property is clean, nicely decorated. Quiet even with many people staying on a busy holiday . Large rooms, large closet and lots of towels. Front desk was friendly and welcoming, check in was quick. The property offers breakfast, which many guests were enjoying. We did not try it on this trip. Will stay here again when in town.

New building. 15min drive from Monterey Downtown. Inside pool is small. During our stay, there were many families with kids. If you want time to swim, try early in the morning when everybody is having breakfast.

The room was nicely appointed and well designed. The location of the TV was a bit awkward but the layout of the suite made the location mandatory. Over-all an excellent room. The rooftop lounging area is also very nice for viewing spectacular sunsets. Location is very convenient in terms of quick access to the highway and we really appreciated the new TJs across the street. On the down side, the room features a 3 panel pass-thru bypass sliding glass divider between the desk and bed area that rattles every time you walk near it. We stopped it by wedging napkins between the panes of glass but it is annoying. The single biggest detractor, sadly, was the hotel bar. IMO, a hotel bar is an accomodation to the clients and should not be treated as a profit center. I understand the cost of alcohol at bars, but the glasses of wine that we were served were price as a premium wine at $9 a glass and were truly mediocre on top of seriously over-priced. Worst of all, the bartender had the same welcoming personality as an airport parking attendant making him the biggest detracting aspect of the entire stay. I would recommend the hotel to fellow travelers with the caveat of avoid the bar (you can pay the per glass price for wine across the street at TJs for a full bottle of a much better wine and not have the aggravation of a surly bartender), and we found that you'd best hit the continental breakfast early if you don't want to be in a line (PS; no pastries).

I like that the property is in a newly developed area, across from a big shopping plaza with a few restaurants. However, breakfast choices are very limited. We also have issues with temperature control in the room. The room was preset for 72 deg. Warm air came out as the unit turned on, but making the room too warm. We lowered it to 70, but cold air kept blowing out. We had to turn off the unit at night, and was more comfortable that way.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect, close to everything I wanted to explore. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

I advertised as oceanview but the property is too far from the coast. Also, the window is so small, you can't really see the ocean due to the bright lights from the strip mall next to this property. They should take one of the annimity off of their ad, tennis. There were none and the front does not know about that either...it was disappointing. A BIG NEGATIVE was that the cleaning solution they use was so strong, both my husnand and I could not stand it. We left the window open the whole evening and came back with headaches...could not sleep the whole night and got back home sick....NOT GOOD
