"We ate at the hotel restaurant, 1921. The service was attentive, pleasant and all-out welcoming. Gonzalo was very knowledgeable and his hospitality was second to none. We were able to try and enjoy local wine that he recommended and his ability to speak English was an added bonus. The staff and hotel are amazing and any would-be traveler to Montevideo should make a point to have dinner at "1921" and afterwards head to reception and reserve a room. Fantastic!"

There are many upgrades needed, but there is a charm that in a sense, could represent the ever changing society and population of the city.
