Spacious, comfortable 4-star, 3-bedroom, dog-friendly gite in woodland setting

Super quiet and tranquil accommodation that comfortably sleeps 6 people in 3 large bedrooms. There is a large garden (about 900sq m) with sun loungers, a covered patio area and garden furniture, BBQ and games. The garden is fully enclosed with wire mesh fencing for the safety of dogs and children. The whole property is surrounded by woodland, where we often see deer and wild boar, as well as lots of different bird species. There is almost no light pollution, so it's also grest for stargazing on warm summer nights.

Without doubt the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed at , everything was 100% right ,beautiful home beautiful grounds in a beautiful region of France with many things to see and do . Great location to explore the Loire valley or just relax.
Fabulous location to explore the Loire valley. 15 mins to grocery store. The gite is well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen including a generous basket of food when you arrive. It’s very quiet and serene with a beautiful garden, outside eating area and outdoor games for the kids. It’s very accessible for those with mobility issues. We all loved the place and could quite happily live there long term! Thank you to our hosts!

Great Place, Lovely Owners, Lots to see and do
We really enjoyed our stay in Mouliherne. The house was imaculately clean and tidy and warm for our arrival and our greeting by Simon and Jackie equally warm. Our stay was enhanced by mostly good weather and Mouliherne is a lovely base to visit the Loire Valley and all its beautiful chateaux. We have no reservation in highy recommending this 5-Star property.

Another perfect visit
It was so lovely to return to Les Vieux Auberts for a second visit. Such a beautiful and relaxing place and we did as intended and just unwound and did very little. Simon and Jackie are perfect hosts and their dogs are so friendly and glad to see that they have added another dog to the pack. Another tasty welcome pack of food made such a good start too. All being well we hope to return for another visit. We can'r recommend this house highly enough. Thanks to you both.

Amazing gite in a peaceful setting
This property is outstanding, the owners have thought about everything which made out stay amazing from start to finish. The communication prior to our arrival was very helpful, as was the lovely welcome pack. The very well equipped property was a delight to stay in, the facilities both inside and outside were of a very high quality and the beautiful garden was an absolute pleasure to spend time in. We especially enjoyed playing table tennis whilst enjoying a glass of wine!!!! The location of the property is very peaceful and there are lots of places to visit in the surrounding area. We found there was lots to do, from visiting château 's, tree climbing, exploring beautiful lakes and wandering around the nearby towns. Thank you Jackie and Simon for making our stay so wonderful.

This a clean and well-presented property that matches exactly what is marketed. We had a great time and found the location to be quiet and peaceful. We had a dog with us and the area was idea for walking and the ground to the property useful as well. The property turned out to be cosy and yet plenty big enough. The owners were pleasant and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

A delightful haven
A superb country home presented immaculately by hosts. Booking and confirmation was very easy, with the owners providing very clear instructions on how to get there - essential as it's tucked away in the forest! Plenty to do on site with table tennis and badminton, with a lovely covered space to dine outside in the warm evenings. Plenty more to do within a short drive; sailing and kayaking on the Loire, horse riding and golf all within 20 minutes, as is Saumur if you fancy dinner out. Or just stay and enjoy the silence in the forest. Everyone was very relaxed after our week and all sorry to be leaving

Thoroughly recommended
We had a fabulous two weeks. Simon & Jackie welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable in their delightful gite. Very spacious with lovely grounds. Our dogs particularly enjoyed the generous, and fully enclosed, garden. Well placed for the attractions of the Loire the gite is also very quiet, and surrounded by gorgeous woodland. We would thoroughly recommend this gite and the delightful hosts.

The Perfect Gite
We loved our stay at Mouliherne and had a wonderful greeting from Jackie & Simon with a delicious welcome basket full of lovely produce. The surroundings and garden were so peaceful and the house was immaculate with everything we could wish for. The first place we've stayed with good sharp kitchen knives too. Very cozy old (but modern!) family house with all possible amenities, very friendly hosts, in the middle of the forest with deer and hare but only half an hour from Saumur and 10 min. from a supemarche with everything you'd need.

This home is in an exquisitely beautiful setting. The surrounding area is a great deal of fun to explore in every direction. The owners are very thorough. Every thing one could need has been provided. And the property is spotless inside and out, We cooked delicious dinners using foods purchased at a local farmers market. Quiet and peaceful home. Comfortable beds. I wish I’d made a 2 week reservation. One week simply wasn’t enough. We will be back ... for sure.

A very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped house in a beautiful, tranquil environment.
Simon and Jackie provide everything you might need to enjoy your stay in their gite and the lovely outside space. From the very generous welcome basket to the provision of all household products, they seem to have thought of all eventualities and clearly care about providing a great experience for their visitors. The house itself, traditional in its decor, is extremely comfortable with excellent beds, spacious bathrooms and plenty of relaxing furniture in the roomy lounge. It has a lovely atmosphere and is a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. Simon and Jackie are delightful to deal with and made it easy for us to settle into the house and the surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are very keen to return.

Fantastic experience
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and throughout our stay Simon and Jackie were the perfect hosts. The property was very clean and in an excellent condition and it was clear that attention had been given to every little detail. Beautiful location, fabulous house and grounds with superb hosts
The pictures really don’t do this gite justice. Simon and Jackie have rely worked hard to make this property a fabulous holiday destination. From the spotlessly clean house to the well tendered gardens we were impressed from the start. Jackie and Simon were there to meet us, and quickly showed us around the property so we were clear on how everything worked. There is also a very well laid out house book that covers all the usual items, such as places to visit etc however they have added additional items such as emergency contact and useful French phrases which was a really good idea. Also another unique touch was the welcome basket with fresh produce from their garden, and our pre ordered 1st shop waiting for us......fantastic idea 😀 The gite and garden are separate and secluded so as to give their guests a very peaceful and relaxing location which we took full advantage off, along with the many games provided which kept the kids occupied. There are lots of lovely villages and towns within the area to visit, we particularly liked Saumur with its bars and cafes. However if you just want to chill and relax this is a perfect location. Thank you Simon and Jackie for a wonderful holiday.

Charming ambiance & outstanding customer satisfaction
We spent Christmas at Les Vieux Aubert & what an extra special place to celebrate with our grown-up family. Simon & Jackie are gracious hosts who were extra helpful and welcoming - even before we arrived - with invaluable information & excellent advice before our arrival! This charming couple have decorated & equipped Les Vieux Auberts well, with so many thoughtful extra touches. The rooms are spacious, flow well, and the lounge is deliciously cosy with the welcoming log burner. The gite is part of a converted barn & provides the most delightful quirky areas - amazing architectural delights like the wooden beams, high ceilings & little nooks often found in these converted characterful homes. Two double bedrooms and an ensuite are upstairs - spacious, warm & beautifully decorated with quality finishes & bedding. The well equipped kitchen & lounge are on the ground level with another well appointed double en-suite room. This ground floor bedroom is perfect for those with limited mobility as there are no stairs. Plenty of space, good equipment, furnishings & a lovely surprise of good quality crockery & cutlery. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the area. No problems with car parking either. Driving about to Samur, Angers, and the other beautiful areas was easy. Shopping was good - found some lovely produce with suggestions & directions from Simon. I can imagine how stunning it would all be in the summer - Les Vieux Auberts is surrounded by beautiful woods (we saw deer, boar & several raptors) & has the feeling of being away from it all in nature while still being close enough to civilisation. We'd love it if the opportunity arose for us to return in summertime to enjoy the lovely garden with well designed outdoor seating & cycle the beautiful surrounding area. Thank-you Simon, Jackie & the hounds for going the extra mile to ensure our Christmas break was simply amazing!

Wonderful stay in the heart of the Loire
We stayed at Les Vieux Auberts with our 1 year old daughter at the start of September and had a wonderful time! Simon and Jackie were so welcoming and the house was equipped with everything we needed, including a great selection of kitchen utensils and a cot, high chair and stair gate for our toddler. The garden was the perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon and a lovely setting for evening meals cooked on the Weber BBQ. The area is beautiful - so peaceful but still very close to many places of interest, including Saumur, Angers, lots of chateaux and the fantastic zoo at Doue. Thank you to the Reeves's for a great stay!

Excellent gite with everything you need for a super holiday - a home from home in the Loire!
Jackie and Simon (and dogs!) were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They have thought of every little detail and ensured that the gite is equipped with everything you need. The accommodation is extremely comfortable, the site is beautiful and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. We were only the second booking they have had, and based on our experience we would recommend Les Vieux Auberts to anyone for a super time. We're sure this gite will be very popular.
