"Just the most dingy place to stay at such an outrageous price! Maybe if it was cheaper it wouldn’t be so bad but at the price it’s ridiculous! The showers would only work when the hot tap was also running, one shower door was loose and fell off, not to mention the the mold and peeling paint. "Super, friendly host Joe met us and gave us an insight into the local area and lots of information. There was just the two of us but the property could easily accommodate seven people. All the facilities that we required, a true home from home. Perfect location for our days out both locally and as far as Waterford, Dublin, Galway and Westport. Thanks again Joe."

To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. "We really enjoyed this cottage. It was exactly as listed. So cozy and felt like home. Our host was lively and we loved the town. We enjoyed several meals at Giltrap Pub. Mattresses are still the kind with springs which was not a great fit for our backs but the rooms and duvet covers were just great!! Nice shower and bathroom. Overall, I’d recommend this cottage to all. We were able to make several day trips East and South. Great location if your renting a car. Thanks a million."

"Great, central location in Ireland. Could drive to Galway, Clanmacnoise, Rock of Cashel, Burren, Dublin area easily and be back. All within two hours, some even 20 minutes. Parking great and walked to pubs, music, groceries, etc. 8 family including kids. Kids loved the loft area and family loved main dining/living area. "Yvonne and Peter couldn't be more accommodating! Yvonne met us to discuss the cottage. She had nice touches to make everything cozy. It was incredibly clean! We felt at home immediately! It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!"

"Very clean and spacious. It was the perfect location for our needs. This property is located on a working farm which we loved. The bedrooms were large with good sized bathrooms.....all were en suites."

Corrigan’s Corner House was a perfect place for us to do lots of adventures on the Shannon River and easily drive to visit cousins. We did a lot of cooking and loved that the supermarket was right across the street, and there were pubs with Irish music in walking distance. We’d stay here again."

The Killeshin is a very nice hotel.

"Our room at the Killeshin was very clean with nice amenities. Check in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. There were no electrical receptacles bedside for my CPAP machine but staff quickly provided me with an extension cord. We purchased the made to order breakfast @ 11 Euros which was well worth the money."
