A wonderful stay all round, location amazing, very comfortable bed, really good shower and good breakfast. Above all both Vasilis and Alexandra were wonderful hosts, checked local buses for me, booked my trip, nothing was to much, lots of advice about the best ways to get to places - definitely recommend it. Belmondo is one of the hotels situated in the port area of Chania. The location is truly great, right in the middle of everything, with rooms overlooking the water. The main inconvenience is that there is practically no parking in the vicinity, so you'll have to walk for at least 15-20 minutes to the nearest parking lot. Not to say, that even if you find a spot you'll risk a fine because most parkings in this area are "for residents only"! There is also no elevator, which is pretty common for the old buildings in this area, so be warned if you carry heavy luggage or have bad knees. The rooms are kind of romantic and nice, but the furnishings are very outdated and truly worn out. When it comes to cleanness, that leaves much to be desired. Bed covers are truly old and stained. And while they claim to clean your room every day, you don't really see much of it. All they practically do is change your towels (only if you ask for it!) and straighten up your bedding. They don't clean the floor, the toilet, the shower, or the sink. We stayed there for a week and in a week not even once the toilet was cleaned! Personnel is also a little edgy if you dare ask for something. One evening I remember asking the receptionist if I could get a set of clean towels because I forgot to leave them on the floor in the morning. He asked me if it has been 3 days since I had them changed because they don't change the towels every day. In the end he gave me new towels, but not after a little fuss.

Property was clean, modern, and safe with nice view of water. Welcome beverage was an unexpected treat. Warm breakfast buffet was good. My only complaint would be the limited parking with no signage. The congested area is very convenient to the waterfront dining. Great hotel despite limited parrking.

The staff was excellent, especially George who gave us excellent excursion tips and was the friendliest server we had in Greece! All staff were very helpful, hotel is gorgeous. We had the 2 bedroom master suite and it was probably the nicest hotel room we ever had. Restaurants are all walkable and excellent. Stay away from the ones around the waterfront though. They are tourist traps. The only negative was that the shower head in the master suite upstairs was clogged and there was practically zero water pressure. We shared the kids’ bathroom for showers downstairs. I also had to ask for Expedia VIP amenity. They did bring up a small bottle of sparkly wine but I had to ask for it even though it was on the reservation. Breakfast was also excellent!

We loved staying at this hotel. The modern, clean and comfortable facility had some of the friendliest staff we encountered during our stay in Greece. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We were sad to leave them after 2 days. The hotel is not in the tourist area of Chania. It feels much more Greek. We drive into town one night for dinner which was 10-15 minutes the other night we went to a small town 10 minutes in the other direction and had a fantastic meal at a small Greek family run restaurant. The rooms are modern and extremely clean. The included breakfast was fantastic. This is a great place to stay if you have a car and want to experience life outside of the tourist Chania ghetto.
