And Mint Cake Mews is perfectly placed… a 2 minute walk into Kendal and a 5 minute drive to the main arterial routes to Windermere, Keswick, etc. The property has been tastefully modernised throughout, the accommodation was comfortable, and easy to keep clean for dog owners. "The Reservoir View properties are all luxurious, beautifully styled and very comfortable, with all essential items provided. The Welcome Box contained lots of treats. A fabulous place for a short break. Communication with Sally, the owner, was excellent. The view over the reservoir is lovely and the walk into Pateley Bridge is great (though walking shoes are needed as it can get muddy)."

"We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. "It was an amazing stay, staff lovely and helpful, food was great in restaurant, rooms were really nice too, only negative would be bathroom! Tiles broken on floor where toilet is and window need a blind or curtain as tge frosted stickers are peeling off and people can see into bathroom! However this did not take away from an amazing stay. Anyone using pool should probably be made aware pre visit that you need a padlock for lockers also."
