The hotel was great however they state “airport shuttle” on their website without mentioning anything of a cost. We get down the street to the airport and tip the guy and he proceeds to throw our money on the ground and demand a payment of €40. Mind you, it is a very short drive to the airport and we had no cash.

We thought this property was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a restaurant available and the food was delicious. There’s also a beautiful park just a walk away. The hotel was close to the airport, but there was no airport noise. Thank you for an excellent stay.

We had to stay at Hotel Alter Wirt at the last minute due to flight delays, and the staff was very accommodating with checking us in and doing some laundry. Additionally, the morning breakfast had the best eggs and coffee we had during our trip to Germany.

The entire property is newly renovated and quite pleasant. No A/C, but the windows opened, and the night air was cool. The restaurant was just okay. Breakfast (not at the restaurant) was enjoyable, and the staff were terrific.

Alter Wirt is a charming boutique-size hotel in Galdach, a rural town near Munich Airport. It is modern, clean, and well-run by exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and offers a wonderful, fresh breakfast for those in a hurry. My family has stayed there on numerous occasions in the 30 years since it opened and it remains an easy recommendation for a good place to stay close by the Munich Airport for early morning flights.

We stayed at this Hotel overnight between flights to and from Munich International Airport (MUC). The property is only 12km from the airport making it very convenient. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, ensuring we were comfortable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, with several options available to choose from. We will definitely stay here again, if we have the chance.

20 minutes from airport. Wonderful staff BUT restaurant has terrible service and undercooked food. Mono other restaurants nearby so you’re stuck.

Exceptionally clean rooms. The staff did a fantastic job of making our stay comfortable. The breakfast was very nice as well. Overall, a great experience. This is my hotel of choice when I have to stay in the vicinity of Munich International Airport from now on.

This is a nice and very clean property with very large rooms, great water pressure and temperature control. Be aware the reception does depart after 9 pm but a lockbox system is used for checkin and communication is good to aid you with it. The area is agricultural and during our stay manure fertilizer smell was prominent, but this is likely limited to one part of year.

Stayed the night before our flight out of Munich. Great hotel, room was very clean with a nice bathroom. The restaurant was wonderful. They arranged a taxi to the airport. Cost was right at €30 for the taxi ride. The only issue that you might have is there isn't any air conditioning. We stayed in May and the room was already pretty warm. I'm guessing that in the summer it would be very hot in the rooms. There was a portable fan which helped a bit. Would stay there again just not in the summer.

We picked the place for its proximity to the airport and because of the restaurant connected to the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed (and it's not clear if they are closed forever or just for a while) - luckily there is another restaurant in walking distance ! The staff is very friendly, they offer a breakfast for a fee (EUR 5.90 per person) which is good and you can pick what style of eggs you like. They also have a small fridge with beverages available at a very reasonable price. Note that there is no elevator (so be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs). All in all a great experience and a very reasonable price !
