Beautiful location & house
Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to get away. Fall was beautiful time to go. House was well appointed and very comfortable- we enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated the availability of the wood they made available on location for a reasonable price. I would recommend brining your own fry pans as the ones available were very worn but all other kitchen supplies were provided and in good working condition. Communication with home owner was very good when I was up there, she answered several questions I had within minutes.

Great cabin
Excellent place! We loved it. The Internet was not working, the owner did offer to have it fixed while we were there, but we spent all our free time hiking so opted to leave it alone. We did find a box of DVDs so we did have entertainment in the evening despite not having Internet! Beautiful views, highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice secluded getaway!

Fall Getaway
Perfect house and location for a long weekend in the UP. The house is located on a quiet lake in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest. If you like to be secluded, this is the perfect spot! Two bedrooms on the main floor with queen beds, one loft bedroom upstairs with two queen beds. Bathroom with shower very spacious. Open concept between the living room and kitchen was great for our group. Big deck and a nice fire pit. We were greeted by Trumpeter Swans while we were there. They migrate up in that area to breed and fly south in winter. Very cool experience! Internet worked as I would expect when you're in the middle of a woods. We did not watch TV or try to stream anything, we were there to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. I will come back to the area again and I will reserve this house again. FYI: roads leading to the house are gravel. Our GPS took us down some "roads" that were more like UTV trails, we had to turn around a few times. Once we found the way, it was easy to not get lost again! I highly recommend this house. We stayed from October 4-6 and had great weather with little to no bugs.

Great cabin stay
We enjoyed our stay the cabin which had everything we needed. Kitchen was very well stocked. The cabin is not only beautiful but comfortable inside and out. Great deck for eating our meals and enjoying the view of the lake. We also enjoyed the paddle boat! Enjoyed the little town of Munising and the stunning Lake Superior beach! Thank You!

Just Unwinding
Short stay of 4 days to unwind and do a little sightseeing in the area. The Cabin is well kept and is located on a peaceful small lake. Easy access to hiking areas. It was just my wife and myself, but plenty of room for kids/ grandkids. Highly recommend.

Cute cabin, nice setting, but needs better upkeep
Cute cabin, such a shame it's not better cared for. The sliding screen doors fell off multiple times, multiple outlets didn't work including all in one of the downstairs bedrooms. The previous entry in the guest book mentioned the same thing. Notified owner, nothing was done. Dishwasher stuffed with dirty dishes upon arrival, trash in the yard. No flat sheet on one of the beds. Some of the cookware was grossly dirty. Spiders in the cupboard.

Good Location! NO AC! Plus some other surprises.
First let me say that the location was great and, overall, I would absolutely recommend you check it out. We had a great trip. The scenery was beautiful. Would definitely return again. Everything was as expected with the following exceptions: 1. It ought to have been explicitly stated on the property page that THERE IS NO AC on the property. It's true that this amenity is not included in the list. But, considering how common it is to have AC nowadays, there should be a statement somewhere mentioning this lack. 2. The wifi was absolutely terrible and unreliable. There would be long periods of time when it stopped working altogether. 3. The cabin was very clean with the exception of the TV stand. There were dead bugs all over the it. 4. The listing mentioned that there would be paper towels, but there was only a used quarter of a roll in the cabin. There should have been more. 5. The outdoor lights on the porch didn't work and it was very disappointing. The lack of light cut our evenings short every day. 6. There were some local(?) guys who stopped by the cabin asking for a bottle opener. They were good guys and popped by again after that. We offered them some beers and they talked to us for a long while. Their visits weren't unpleasant. They was just unexpected.

Fun place to stay but the cabin needs work.
My review is mixed. I enjoyed my stay, the location is beautiful and peaceful, but the cabin has a number of construction issues that need to be addressed. The positives: aesthetically pleasing cabin, kayaks and lake are great, layout accommodated our group. The negatives: outlets are loose (i.e., junction boxes not properly attached), stair risers are different heights presenting a safety hazard when climbing to the loft, kitchen faucet is loose, smoke detector not properly installed, switches in unintuitive locations, unfinished wood trim in bathroom presents a growth spot for mold (discoloration has started in corners). Overall we enjoyed the stay but found these issues frustrating.

Serenity
We loved the serenity of the location, especially using the kayaks and paddle boat on the lake, and having a fire in the fire pit. It was well positioned for our day trips to Marquette and Pictured Rocks, and well appointed for our stay. Only complaints were the weakness of the wifi and a majority of the power outlets not working, plus very low mobile phone signal in the area, which created challenges with finalizing sightseeing plans and catching up on work.

Peaceful Remote Location
I loved this house with the beautiful lake right out the back. We kayaked and fished and enjoyed seeing a loon, swans, and geese. Bring your bug spray because the mosquitoes and flies are serious in the summer. My only complaint was that it was located farther from Munising than I thought and there were some roads that were super sandy & rutted (and very wet the day it rained a ton) that I was glad we had 4-wheel drive vehicle. Otherwise this home is clean, modern, and gorgeous for a family to stay in!

We were looking forward to our stay at this log cabin in the middle of the forest. We felt it was a true UP experience with the lodge feel, fireplace and high ceilings. The guys enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening with a cocktail and the view of the lake. There were 2 beautiful swans and a loon that sang for us most evenings. We did have a clear day to take the kayaks out for a peaceful and enjoyable experience. We felt at home with the full kitchen, coffee maker, large shower and plenty of linens. We didn't get the chance to use the fire pit. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our time.

Very nice place
Very nice place. Enjoyed our visit. I will say that there needs be instructions for the tv. None of the remotes seem to work. Maybe it was user error but? Would be nice to have a dish rack and a bath mat. Those are very trivial. The view and everything else was super and we would definitely stay there again. Probably for more than just a few days. The loons and the swans were spectacular. Thanks for sharing your place.

Dirty and dusty
Not sure how this property has such great reviews. First of all the pictures are outdated. The place was dirty and really dusty. Pet hair was all over couches and stairs. No dishwasher pods. Garbage cans outside loaded with trash. Internet was super slow like dial up slow where you can’t even watch a movie. Definitely needs a deep clean but otherwise it could be a nice house with a great location.

Beautiful property and cabin. Very clean. All as described in the listing. Owner very quick to respond to questions. The fall colors around the lake were amazing! Used paddle boat and kayaks. The only suggestion we have to the owner would be for more "exact" directions to the cabin once you turn off 94. As the owner mentions in the listing, GPS is not accurate. The GPS is still somewhat helpful if you can't find your way in or out but make sure to download it while you still have a strong cell signal because you most likely won't have a signal once you are away from main roads. Even though we had some trouble getting back to the main road the first day and we're somewhat lost, the fall colors and scenery more than made up for it! Highly recommend; especially if you are looking for a quiet and serene location to collect your thoughts and rest your soul!
