Indulge your need for speed at this tremendous monument to Modena’s original racing champion and automotive pioneer in two engaging museum houses.

Imagine the wind in your hair as you zoom around the Emilia-Romagna countryside at the Museo Enzo Ferrari. See dozens of rare and unique Ferrari car models, as well as other marques, learn all about the great man’s life and even visit the room where he was born. In this shrine for sports car lovers, whether you’re an automobile enthusiast or not, you’ll see the beauty and precision that make Ferrari renowned all around the world.

Modena takes great pride in its local residents who have become famous. Ferrari was one of the most famous. The museum has two separate buildings, the old and the new, complementing each other perfectly. The modern building, re-opened in 2014, shows off fascinating fluid and curved architecture with a multi-panel glass façade and a bright yellow roof reminiscent of a sports car’s hood.

Inside, explore the permanent car exhibits telling the story of Enzo Ferrari’s glittering career. Huge halls of priceless vehicles and other artifacts are presented as works of automotive art with all the details for automotive enthusiasts. These exhibits make smart use of technology, bringing Ferrari’s story to life through projections and video installations.

The other building is the original warehouse that belonged to Enzo’s father Alfredo. It’s been lovingly restored, so it’s possible to see where magical mechanical works took place. You can even see rooms in the house where Enzo Ferrari was born in 1898.

On your visit see the screening room, restaurant and gift shop. Don’t confuse Modena’s Museo Enzo Ferrari with the Museo Ferrari in nearby Maranello. For the ultimate Ferrari experience, make time for both museums and use the regular shuttle bus service between the two. The Modena complex is open every day of the year except for New Year’s Day and Christmas Day. It’s possible to buy tickets online. Purchase a combined ticket for both Ferrari museums.
