"Lovely stay at a traditional ryokan (at least I think so, it was the only ryokan we stayed at). Great location very close to Zenkoji Temple - this place is within the temple area and was even the Zenkoji Main Hall in the past. We had the dinner one night, which was an impressive feast! But maybe a bit much for my kids. "

Do take note that hotel charges ¥900 per room for bathing tax, apparently for usage of public bath (onsen), even though we did not use it at all during our 3 nights stay. Hotel staff explained that this bathing tax will be charged regardless of usage. This is not logic, in my point of view. Mecure management (being a big hotel chain) should look into a managing system to only charge this tax for...

"Nice location and off the beaten path. An easy 15 minute drive to most things we wanted to see; zoo, central Nagano, Nagano station. Easy parking, nice relaxing hot bath on balcony. It was an older Ryoken but maintained and Friendly staff. "
