Sportsmans Retreat in Paradise! Bayou Bungalow near New Orleans Sleeps 10

Whether you want to visit the famous French Quarter, walk the beach on the gulf coast or fish, hunt and crab to your hearts delight; this is what you've been searching for! Located in Pirates Harbor in the Rigolets off Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne, we are only a 30 minute drive to visit Bourbon St or the beaches and casinos of Mississippi. From the large front deck you will enjoy the scenic views of Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge while you watch the sunrise over the marsh. The evening will present you with breathtaking sunsets from the rear deck. Launch your boat at the Rigolets Marina which is about 2 miles down the road. Dock your boat at our dock or fish and crab right from the dock. Camp Reel Estate sits on a scenic bayou that is a short 15 minute boat ride out to Lake Pontchartrain. The camp is a fully furnished 2 bedroom and 2 bath home with a large upper loft - the home sleeps a total of 10 people in beds. Our waterfront home has all the amenities of your home plus some things you might need while you enjoy your stay in our little piece of paradise. We provide a burner, boiling pot, propane grill, crab traps, fishing poles, pedal boat, kayak, plus all you will need in the kitchen to cook that pot of gumbo or fry up those fish you catch! Fish at night off of the dock lights or just relax in the bayou breeze. Of course there are also some great nearby restaurants for you to dine if the fish don't cooperate :).
Be sure to visit Olde Towne Slidell along with the quaint shops and restaurants. Check out their event calendar for their annual festivals which are sure to please. Fremaux Center is a great shopping and dining area and is only about 4 miles away. There are 4 grocery stores nearby also so don't worry if you forget to bring something!
Most importantly you will enjoy the serenity of the bayou breeze and the sound of the fish jumping, birds chirping and yeah you may see a gator or two in the wildlife reserve across the highway. We have TV and free internet but chances are those will be the last thing on your mind. We want to share our dream and little piece of paradise with you. We look forward to having you as our guests.

Family get away
Kids had a blast running crab traps and fishing for small cats on cane poles. We caught a big drum one night and had a great beach day the next. The crabs and fish were hit and miss but the house was super clean and had everything we needed. Couldn’t have had better weather in summer with spotty storms and a nice breeze.

Great house on the water
Well here I go again. I’ve stayed at this house my last 4 fishing trips to the south with friends and it never disappoints me. This is a great place to stay while we are down south fishing. Just can’t say enough about Siobhan the host. She is SO great to work with and she just keeps the place so clean and up to date. Back and front porches are the bomb. Morning views and sunsets are the best. I will never stay anywhere else for by southern trips. Thanks so mush Siobhan.

We rented for a guys fishing trip. The house was perfect for our group. Clean, on the water, extremely clean and Easy to check in and out of. We caught fish and crabs off of the back dock. Siobhan was very attentive to any questions we may have had. House has everything you need !

Love this place.
I have stayed twice here within the last year. It has everything you need to may your stay great. Very clean and comfortable and a great fishing pier off the back of the house. The owner really cares about making sure everything you need is there and would go out of their way to make your stay work. Beds are very comfortable, kitchen appliances are new. Everyone loved it!
My family, which included my mom, my sister and brother-in-law, and my husband and our 2 kids stayed here for a visit to explore New Orleans and spend time with our uncle who lives in Slidell. This house was so peaceful to come “home” to after full days being tourists. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and all the supplies we needed were provided. The best part was the outdoor spaces- sitting on the porches (2 choices!) to spot wildlife and for fishing off the dock. Thank you to our hosts for their hospitality!

Family getaway
We came to Slidell to visit family and stayed at this property. We loved it here. Great location to see wildlife and relax. Great house in the bayou
Wow, what a great place to rent if you like very clean and comfortable house. We came down for a two day fishing trip from Tennessee and love every minute we stayed here. Plenty of room and the back porch was the best to see sunsets. Siobhan was easy to communicate with and offered to meet with us and had everything you wanted at the house. Sunsets were beautiful and house was perfect for my family.
Owner was great with accommodations for my handicap son. The lift was perfect to get him up to the main level. House smelled clean when we walked in, there were beverages in the refrigerator and some southern snacks on the island. There were alligators in the bayou across the street and birds on the sanctuary across the bayou to the back. It rained most of the days we were there but that was ok, it was great to just relax. Would definitely stay again if we come to Louisiana.

While enjoying coffee taking in a sunrise or savoring a glass of wine over a beautiful sunset, this is the perfect place to relax & get away from it all. Within a short 30 minutes drive to the city, it is an easy commute to enjoy the best of both worlds after fun-filled days. This home is spotless & the owners go above & beyond to have it stocked with so many supplies & amenities so you have everything you could ever need. My family enjoyed the beautiful outdoor views, comfortable furniture, & appreciated all the details & decorations throughout the home. We only wish we had more time to to spend there! The owner was tremendous to work with from start to finish! A perfect long weekend filled with family memories to cherish that will last a lifetime.
