Great location, beautiful grounds for the holidays. Tremendous amount of people though in and out looking at the tree and decorations. Extremely long lines for check in. For the amount of money paid, no nightly water in room and our room was missed for cleaning one day. Had to call multiple times to get pillows and blankets for the pull out couch and extra towels as we had 4 people in a room. During check in, no explanation of hotel, services or area. Just given key cards. I had to ask them to point me in the right direction to get to room. Again nothing big but the amount of money spent per night here I would have expected better service. The guys helping in and out of building and luggage were the best as well as the service in the coffee/ bakery shop.

Not only is the property outstanding, but the staff is simply BEYOND amazing! The Doorman George, who helped us with our bags, gave us a tour, took our pictures by the tree and helped us get a driver to the airport when our uber was stuck in traffic! Truly 10 out of 10 - can't wait to go back!

The location is superb, the building exquisite and the Christmas tree magical. However, for the price you get absolutely the minimum. No slippers, no shower gel, no in room coffee or tea, one bottle of water per check in, no bathroom floor towel. The line for the take out breakfast cafe is constantly long, another small cafe or refreshment option should be available. The breakfast at the restaurant was mediocre, I had to ask to be served, ask for water, ask for the bread basket, ask for the spoon. Basically absolutely awful service. At check out I could conveniently check out on my phone, but to get my luggage I waited 20min then another 20 for a taxi cab. Basically once the hotel gets your money at booking there is nothing that is done to please you, entertain you, make you feel welcome or want to come back again.

You are paying only for a name, a location, and the lobby. When we first arrived, the lobby was packed with tourists (they let anyone in to see decor) and guests. No staff held the doors for us as we lugged our luggage in, and the front desk employee we dealt with was short. The room itself looked like a Holiday Inn - the chair had stains all over it, the amenities in the bathroom were minimal, and the view of our original room was of the entire HVAC system. After complaining to 2 employees who were not helpful and had an attitude about the situation, we paid to upgrade to a view of St. Pats in order to get out of the original room - this view was stunning. We have stayed at the Plaza and St. Regis in Manhattan and this was the poorest "luxury" hotel we've stayed. We unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and has the most stunning tree; however, it lacked in dining options especially during the busy season. Also, the rooms can use a major upgrade in style, water pressure, and offerings especially given the price per night.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! Visiting at Christmas was spectacular. The courtyard is absolutely gorgeously decorated as well as the rest of the hotel. The staff it's not only of the highest caliber, but they are all very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for your visit to the city, you can walk just about anywhere.

Our first time staying here. We booked a double King room facing the city (not Cathedral). View was ok. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom could be bigger. It needed shelves below the sink for space to put toiletry bags. The lobby and the courtyard were lovely with Christmas decorations. Staffs there were all really nice. The Gold bar was a nice place to have a drink. Our only complaint is the wait time for an elevator to go down. It took a very long time to get one when you are at the high floors. We were on the 36th floor and each time we want to go downstairs, it took at least 10-15 mins plus making a few other stops going down. Give yourself at least 30 min buffer time if you have a reservation somewhere. The holiday season is the busiest here, but the most beautiful! We loved how they had Santa visit in the lobby and on Saturdays, there’s a free tour of the mansions. The history was amazing! We loved it! The hotel is also very convenient walking distance to many attraction sites and restaurants/cafes/bars. We will probably come back again next year!

Property was decorated amazingly & the people were lovely. Downside is a huge hotel with SIX elevators. At one point, only three were working. The wait to go up or down was ridiculous. We walked down TWENTY FLIGHTS of stairs MORE THAN ONCE with my 2 kids. To pay that amount for a hotel and have to walk down twenty flights of stairs twice is insanity. As much as we loved all the Christmas decor & touches, we will not be staying there again.
