"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"What I particularly liked and the primary reason I booked a stay at this B&B was the proximity to the village of Spridlington. A 3 mile country road walk to the church where some of My ancestors are buried. The bonus was how welcoming the hosts were providing a hardy breakfast each morning and friendly chats. The en suite room was very comfortable and quiet."

"The couple that ran the place were extremely friendly and would do anything we needed, the bed was really comfortable, a good breakfast was supplied each day (not cooked), but cereal etc, spacious rooms, easy parking, shower needed a refurbishment but was a powered shower, the cubicle was a bit cramped, (I'm 79 & 6 ft tall), the property is situated in a lovely village within easy reach of the A1, it was a very reasonable price.
