This large one bedroom, one bathroom, dog friendly suite is equipped with everything. The bedroom boasts a king size bed, with an ensuite bathroom. The living room area is home to two large and cozy leather chairs, a desk, and a small breakfast nook. There is ample closet space in the unit and it comes equipped with a TV, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and newly installed mini splits.

Howland House, located at 205 Spring Street, is in one of the best locations in Newport. You are a five minute walk to famous Newport landmarks such as: Bannisters & Bowens Wharf, Trinity and St. Mary's Church and The Black Pearl Restaurant. Truly, you are in the heart of it all with dozens of restaurants, shops, bars and sights right outside your door.

Hop in your car for a 10 minute drive to both the Ocean Drive and Bellevue Avenue Preservation Society Mansions.

Windward Suites properties are all keyless, and instead use keypad smart locks for all of the doors for both the buildings and units. All guests will receive an email the morning of their arrival with the instructions, codes to the doors and Wifi. Super easy!

Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Please be respectful of these times unless you have contacted us, as we have a cleaning crew who need the time to do a thorough job before and after all of our guests.

There are two on site parking spots which are on a first come first serve basis, but each unit also includes a parking pass for on street parking which is usually for Newport residents only.


Howland House is a classic historic, four unit, building with the original construction dating back to 1750. It is one of Newport's oldest homes predating the Revolution. It has undergone many updates and renovations to bring new world comfort with an old world feeling.

Unit 18 is located on the second floor and is bathed in natural sunlight. The unit has been recently refreshed with new decor. The french doors opening to the bedroom and hardwood floors throughout make it feel charming and warm.

All of Windwards properties are professionally cleaned between guests and come outfitted in high end linens and towels.

Aside from the cleanliness of the space, it is in one of the most sought after locations in Newport. Right outside your door you can spot historic St. Mary’s Church, and you are steps away from Thames Street, Bannisters & Bowens Wharf, and endless restaurants, bars, and shopping.
