This is the second time staying at the house, the first time was in the summer, now in the heart of winter. Conveniently located near town, but far enough away to make you feel that you have gotten away. The house has everything you need to relax after a day of activities in the Northeast Kingdom.
This Home was a delightful surprise. It is tucked away with privacy, tranquility with a beautiful view of the lake.Stylish, Clean and accommodating sums it up. The host Yvette is just wonderful. Thank you for your hospitality !!
It was beautiful, cool and roomy. We felt like we were at home and it was incredibly clean and well-appointed. The view of the lake was gorgeous and it was so quiet and breezy.
I don’t even know where to begin. The quality of the place was outstanding and the location was perfect quiet and a nature bliss. The house is clean, cozy, and charming.
We lacked nothing. My uncle who is a retired said this was the best place and the best accommodations he has have received.
I will be returning:)
This was our second year staying at this property and it was again a fantastic experience. The home is clean, comfortable and great for families or friends. The property and location are excellent with lake views and access, scenic background and very private. Check in and out is a breeze, we will definitely be returning again!!
This was just the getaway we needed. Though we only live 2.5 hours away we felt like we were in another world. The house is well maintained, clean, surrounded by nature and fully outfitted for guests. Lake access for our canoe was perfect. The owner was an outstanding host. We would come again!
We throughly enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of room for everyone and a great view of the lake. Really enjoyed the firepit and the supply of wood, enough for 2 good fires. The screened porch was fantastic for hanging out and was a focal point of the stay. It was a wonderful mini vacation for our family and we will be back in the future. Thank you Yvette for your hospitality.
We stayed for a week-long getaway. Best parts were watching the stars at night by the fire pit, kayaking on the lake, long leisurely mornings with coffee on the screened in porch, exploring the NEK. Owners were friendly. Only 8m to downtown Newport; although there isn’t much there, we enjoyed the farmer’s market and Thai restaurant. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for.
The house was super clean and ready for our family reunion. town is close by and even has a healthy food store where we could find local organic produce. We got duck eggs at the farmer market (2 times a week). The proximity with the province of Quebec allowed our familly to come down and visit for a few days. We also rented a tandem kayak from our hosts. We had a great time. thanks!
Very private and clean farmhouse. It was the perfect spot for a family gathering of outdoor enthusiasts. When we weren't out kayaking, hiking, or biking in the area, we enjoyed yard games that were part of the house amenities. The view of the lake from the screened in porch and outdoor fire pit, were an added bonus. Owner was very helpful in supplying guide books for hikes and paddles. We hope to return when the border to Canada opens to tourists again so we can explore new territory.
We skied at Jay Peak. We found the house at Newport very inviting and tidy. It reminded me of my grandmother's house 70 years ago. But, the Newport house is much more comfortable. Our stay was very wintery. Snow, cold and ice which is something that I have not seen much of this year near Boston..
We loved it! There is a lot of space, and many little areas where people can be by themselves: nice when vacationing with teenagers. We rented kayaks from the owners and that worked out really well: the lake is quiet here with lots of wildlife. Note that there is no lake access straight down the lawn but there is a good path to the water next to it. The owners are terrific and nearby. Would definitely recommend!
If you are looking for a relaxing place, this is it! My friends and I spent a long weekend cooking, kayaking, sitting by the fire and enjoying the beautiful location. This house is a bit off the beaten path, but only a 5 minute drive to downtown Newport, so it has the best of both worlds. It features comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen and the screen porch was where we spent much of our time. The fire pit was wonderful for our early fall evenings and Yvette is easy to work with.
This was my 2nd visit. The first was during the darkest days of the pandemic. My husband and I went with another couple. Perfect place...2 full bathrooms, LOTS of space inside and out. Huge screened porch with comfortable chairs and coffee tables, overlooking the lake. Both couples brought canoes and we spent 3 days exploring rivers that run into Lake Memphramagog and also the immense lake itself!
This time, we booked for the eclipse. There were 7 of us the first night, and 9 the next two days. The house is stocked with everything you need for a wonderful holiday...washer/dryer, towels, bed linens, cooking equipment. The front porch was very useful to store all the extra things that we brought, so there was no clutter inside. And Yvette is a marvelous person. We will be coming back soon!
We had a wonderful 10 night stay at this property with our crew of 2 adults and 5 children. The view of the south bay of Lake Memphremagog was lovely. The screened in porch protected us from the mosquitos that are typical for this region in summer. The hosts delivered a well-kept property with lots of thoughtful touches, like a high chair and children safety gates for our toddler. Additionally there were board games and streaming channels to keep the kids entertained inside. The kitchen had everything we needed, a ice maker was a great accessory for enjoying cool drinks. The fridge while small compared to our home fridge had plenty of room to keep our week of groceries. Vista was the closest grocery, but there are also a few other options around. We enjoyed the grill when we made steaks a couple nights. We enjoyed the fire pit areas where the hosts provided firewood for our evening outside. Bring or buy insect repellent and use the provided citronella candles to help control the insects. Most nights it was pleasant enough without air conditioning and just fans and opening windows at the right times to bring in the temperate weather. Only one night did I wish the A/C unit was installed. We were in the area to visit family and participate in a memorial service, but we also took a day to show our California kids the coast of Maine and on Friday we checked out the water park at Jay Peak, a fun diversion for 2-3 hours. We would recommend this home and would stay again.
