"We have just arrived home from the most wonderful stay at Eric’s place, we traveled as a group of 6 friends. The photo's do not give credit to this lodge, it really is beautiful, a little oasis of calm and tranquillity; each room was very spacious, tastefully decorated in traditional African style. Large comfortable beds, hot powerful showers and plenty of storage for hanging clothes, free Wifi. We particularly enjoyed swimming and relaxing around the lovely pool and having early morning coffee...

Awa quant à elle a su nous faire apprécier la cuisine sénégalaise par son talent et sa générosité. Quant à Adama elle est toujours souriante et prête à rendre service. "The property owner had his maid write a hand note telling us to pay water and electricity and debated with us prior to leaving as I speak Wolof the native language of Senegal. NO WHERE ON THE LISTING does it state you have to pay for such basic things that you’d think comes with a villa… maybe he only tried to get me to do this who knows because I read reviews before booking. I made sure to take a picture of the note. Nice space otherwise and could use some air fresheners in the bathrooms."

"Maison malheureusement sale à notre arrivée, l’eau est orange car les robinets sont raccordés à l’eau d’irrigation, la première chambre est pleine de sable, la deuxième à une salle d’eau qui n’est pas nettoyée, il fait nuit et on décide de dormir là. "My son and I really really enjoyed our stay at Somone. I will remember our daily walk/jog at the beach. The pool was the perfect size. The storm dust affected its cleanliness but we enjoyed it anyways. Great restaurants nearby and many family activities within driving range. The helps were accommodating. Guorgui spent the nights there which was fine. I would like the whole place to myself if I had travelled with my entire family. Great place, I definitely recommend it."

"I’m still a little shocked at the room we were provided given the $300USD per night cost. It was in shambles. So out of date. Spiders and ants in the restroom. Crumbling walls. We decided to tough it out since we were there for one night and mainly to use the beach (which was very nice). But we have a 11 month old baby and when we got back from dinner there was a giant water bug or cockroach running around the bathroom. I couldn’t have my baby sleeping in a crib with so many bugs around. I was shocked they gave us this room, knowing we had an infant and putting us all the way at the end, where the sounds from the nightly hotel entertainment were audible. When I showed reception a video of the bug, they gave us a new room right away. This room was much nicer and perhaps more in line with the cost but I think the room is probably even more expensive than the $322 we paid. The dinner buffet was lovely. The beach is huge and clean. The pool is outdated, mocktail was watered down. I would not recommend this hotel for the price tag but not sure what the other option around Saly would be. "

"I loved this hotel. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it has a wonderful, African vibe. The food is excellent, and the pool & gardens are lovely. The furnishings are very simple, I don’t expect luxury from a small property in bush. If you need a place close the airport that is clean and quiet, I can recommend this spot. I would stay again. "
