Spindrift is on the outskirts of Benderloch, which is a small coastal village just 8 miles from Oban and located near to Loch Creran to the northeast and Loch Etive to the southwest. Benderloch offers a fully-stocked village store, café, fuel and garage, children’s playground, restaurant and an award winning fish & chip shop. There are some lovely walks through woodland and to the nearby sandy beach at Tralee Bay. There is a steep woodland walk to the summit of nearby Beinn Lora with stunning views from the top. The popular cycle path between Oban to Fort William runs through Benderloch, running along the coast and through woodlands.
Connel Village, about 4 miles away, is a thriving community offering a broad range of facilities including a doctor’s surgery, post office/village shop, railway station,bus routes, restaurants and pubs. Attractions in Connel include Ardchattan Priory and the amazing natural attraction of the Falls of Lora, a tidal race underneath the Connel Bridge. Dunbeg, a further two miles towards Oban, houses the popular attractions of Dunstaffnage Castle and the Ocean Explorer Centre. A short 8-mile journey to the southwest is the bustling port of Oban, the “Gateway to the Isles” boasting excellent transport links and a good range of shops, supermarkets, bars, cafés, restaurants and leisure facilities.
