Country house in the Alentejano Southwest (Portugal), placed within a 7,5 hectares estate, 10 minutes away from Sao Teotonio, 15 from Zambujeira do Mar and Alteirinhos beaches and 45 from Carrapeteira (a surf paradise).

House is surrounded by madrono trees, cork oak trees and eucalyptus in a quiet place, where the only noise comes from cowbells of cattle grazing in a distant country house and the murmuring of the breeze though the trees. Ideal to enjoy nature, relaxing and retrieving peacefulness and strength.

Best of the Best
I'm going to make this short and sweet. Staying here with Juan and Tiana was the highlight of our trip to Portugal and the best home rental experience we have ever had. As retired innkeepers, we know and appreciate gracious hosting and they are the best! In addition, the house was gorgeous, the property was beautiful and the area is wonderfully remote. This place has it all.

Spacious and peaceful property
We stayed for 2 weeks in August with our 2 pre-teens and had a fun and relaxing holiday. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the local beaches and restaurants and shared plenty of hints and tips . It helped us to get going, in an area we didn't know at all and we enjoyed discovering the Alentejo region. The house is spacious and there are plenty of areas to relax, swim and play. The kitchen layout is unusual but it has everything you need. There is also an outdoor patio with barbecue and stone oven to make pizzas. We really recommend the property and would love to visit again.

Beautiful property and gardens
The house was even better than expected. It is very spacious, and the outdoor areas are amazing. We booked the bigger property as the conservatory area looked lovely. It extended the days so we could sit outside early and late. The views down the valley are beautiful and there were so many birds singing. Nightingales and a cuckoo by the pool. Beautiful flowers in the garden. We had very hot weather and the pool reached 29C so we spent a lot of time down there. The shady area near the pool never got too hot. There were lovely walks from the house, which we got up early for. We also explored the stunning cliffs and beaches, and drove up into the hills to visit the little villages. Juan and Taína are great hosts. We would love to return one day.

Peaceful and lovely
Very peaceful place. We spent there one week. The owners Juan and Taina were extremely helpful and welcoming with me and my 4 friends. We had luck with the weather and we managed to do some surf and visited a few little villages. An amazing week! Looking forward to go back soon

Beautiful setting and wonderful hosts!
We spent a lovely week in Casa Bougainvillea. Juan and Taina were really helpful throughout our stay oferring great advice on how to get to the best beaches nearby and also directed us to a great place nearby which produced cheap but really tasty home cooked take away authentic Portuguese evening meals. Would love to go back.....tomorrow!

Semana maravillosa en el Alentejo.
Estuvimos hospedados en familia una semana en el la casa Bougainvillage y es 100% por 100% aconsejable. Las niñas disfrutaron mucho de la piscina y de sus alrededores. Las vistas son una maravilla y lo mejor es la tranquilidad que se respira en todo momento. Tanto Juan como Taina fueron encantadores con nosotros, nos aconsejaron fenomenal sobre qué hacer, ver, visitar o comer. La zona del Alentejo es preciosa, puedes hacer cantidad de excursiones y ninguna decepciona. Sin duda alguna volveremos.

Great place to relax, quiet, remote and 'away from it all', not far from the most beautifull beaches
We stayed for 10 days with two adults and three kids. Good contact before on arrival with clear directions and tips for reaching the house. The owners (fluent English) gave us a hospitable welcome when we arrived with a big delay. During our stay they gave us some great tips for walks, things to do and see, 'secret' beaches etc. Also the owner was always available, very friendly and provided excellent service (an issue we encountered with the water was promptly fixed). The house itself is great: spacious and good equipped (although the place to cook is not that big). We loved all the decoration in the house and the nice garden. Outside there is a pool, table-foorball and ping-pong table to enjoy. Nice walks possible directly from the house, for example to a restored windmill. Village with supermarket, cafés and take-away about 15 minutes drive. 20-25 minutes to several beautiful beaches with stunning cliffs, rocks, waterfalls and views. ...And there's much more to explore further down the coasts! The only downside I can think of that the place is quite remote: the region doesn't have real cultural highlights, romantic villages, etc. But this house is absolutely highly recommended for everyone who loves walking, nature and beaches!

Something Special!
The property is easily accessible from Faro by car. And a car is definitely needed to reach the surrounding destinations. The route description from the owner is excellent. Once arrived on the property, we saw that the description on the Internet is very good. But in real life it is even more beautiful. The property is clean and well-maintained. The house has amazing attention to detail. Nothing is missing. Even baking bread in an outside stone oven is possible. Juan is a great host. His insider tips are exceptional. We were 6 people. Even for 8 people is enough space. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Highly recommended. Just THANX for the good time! Sven und Family

Peaceful, beautiful & relaxing

Un angolo di paradiso fra i profumi del paradiso.
L'assistenza al viaggio a noi riservato da Juan e Taina è stata veramente professionale e delicatamente amichevole. Arrivare alla località è stato un viaggio fra una natura incontaminata e piena di profumi stupendi. L'accoglienza molto gioviale e piena di emozione ed amicizia. La struttura della casa si presenta confortevole raffinata e di grande piacere. Un sapore multietnico e di grandi esperienze di viaggio si sente in ogni dettaglio dell'arredamento. La pace e la vicinanza del cielo nel mezzo della natura crea una magica atmosfera. Il servizio di una piscina immersa nel verde dona una grande gioia. Gli spazi aperti e le zone nascoste nel verde dove poter sostare con tavoli e sedie rifinite per accogliere i pranzi e le merende nella natura. Il e tutti noi ci siamo trovati in una atmosfera creata anche dalla gioia e dalla gentilezza dei suoi proprietari e dall'accoglienza internazionale dove Juan e Taina parlano Spagnolo, Italiano, Francese, Inglese e Arabo con un calore familiare e professionale. Tornerei ancora a passare la mia vacanza. Ringrazio i proprietari per la grande bellezza a noi regalata.

Un paraiso natural cerca del mar
En primer lugar, quisiéramos agradecer a Juan, el anfitrión, su atención y amabiliadad. La casa está situada en un lugar mágico, tranquilo, con una vistas preciosas, rodeado de naturaleza. En su interior te sientes como en casa de un amigo; es cómoda, acogedora, amplia, llena de hermosos muebles y detalles. La terraza acristalada te permite disfrutar del entorno, o de una buena comida, protegido del aire. En fin, del 1 al 10 la valoraría con un 12.

Entspannte Tage bei tollem Gastgeber
Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub. Das Haus war mit allem ausgestattet, vom Handmixer bis zu Windlichtern, Zucker und Salz, Kräutern, Tabs für die Waschmaschine... Und als wir im Supermarkt kein Schleifenband für die Geburtstagsgeschenke gefunden haben, hat Juan uns das auch vorbei gebracht. Überhaupt hat Juan uns bestens versorgt mit Ausflugs- und Restauranttipps, einer Einweisung in den Pizzabackofen, einer Joggingstrecke und vielem mehr! Das Haus war sehr sauber und gemütlich, aber wir waren viel auf der Terrasse und am Pool. Dort konnte man nachts Sternschnuppen sehen! Im Alentejo gibt es aktuell fast keine Covid19-Fälle, alle sind sehr diszipliniert, achten auf Abstand und tragen im Supermarkt Maske. Auch in dieser Hinsicht haben wir uns im Urlaub sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke Juan, dass du uns mit der Verlängerung der Mietwagen geholfen hast und überhaupt für alles!
