Ohiopyle Hobbit House

One of a kind Lord of The Rings themed Hobbit House. With hidden surprises around every turn, you won't stop uncovering small details that will add to your enjoyment during your stay. Almost everything in the house was custom made by the builder. It definitely adds to the unique charm of the house. From the midieval doors with operable speak easy look throughs and whiskey barrel cabinets, you won't stop finding the hidden treasures around the house. Listen to the sounds of the stream steps from the front door while you relax on the roof top patio or 3rd floor deck while reading one of the several provided J.R.R Tolkien books. Take a hike on the nearly mile long private trail system through the mountain laurel and hardwood forest while crossing over the many bridges along the way. There are just too many things to highlight on this one. You really don't need to leave the property to create life long memories, but if you want to add to your scrap book, you are just an 8 minute drive to Pennsylvanias largest state park, Ohiopyle. With world class white water rafting, amazing water falls, miles and miles of hiking trails, and a beautiful little mountain town, you'll never put your camera away. If that's not enough, just 18 minutes away, book a tour of the world renowned Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater". If history is more your thing, a 7 minute drive will bring you to President George Washington's first battle at Fort Necessity's National Battlefield. The Laurel Highlands simply has too much excitement to list on one page.

Incredible getaway!
What an amazing place! We loved every part of the house and the property! Our kids had a blast doing the scavenger hunt and we enjoyed s'mores by the fire each night. The house had everything we needed and there were so many little hidden treasures. We hope to visit again soon!

Truly Magnificent
Our family spent several nights at the Hobbit House for my son’s 7th birthday. He is a big fan of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Let me just say from the moment we pulled down the driveway it was a magical experience. The owners of the home paid very close attention to every detail inside and out. Gandalf greeted us at the front door and that was just the beginning. My son had an amazing time exploring and finding all the Hobbit things that decorated the entire home. There was stuff for s'mores and many memories were made around the awesome fire pit. We hiked the trails around the property several times and found all of the hidden rings. We also enjoyed spending time in the jacuzzi. It is close to Ohiopyle and all the wonderful outdoor adventures there. The Hobbit House far exceeded our expectations and we will surely be visiting again during the fall. We wish we would have stayed longer!

Serene Escape
House was absolutely magical. The owners thought of every detail from the decor, to scavenger hunt on the house trials, and all the amenities for our stay. House was very private and close to Ohiopyle area (10mins). Would recommend to anyone looking for a unique adventure within the beautiful laurel highlands.

The house is gorgeous! you feel like your staying in a story book, every little detail that is taken care is just amazing. I would love to return! The area didn't have a lot of activity but we went white water rafting and hiked to waterfalls and enjoyed life for a few days

Absolutely Inspiring and Amazing
I can not even descrube the beautiful setting, attention to detail, hospitality and uniqueness off The Hobbit House. Masters of the craft when it comes to an experience. The craftsmanship is second to none, the small details though out to make an exoerience. From the 2 miles scavenger hunt set up, the firepit, wood shed, hot tub and great balconies. It is great for a fanily of four, but would be amazing for two families plus. Spent the day hiking and to come back to the Hobbit house is a treat. Definitely booking for a 3-5 day excuslrsion soon! A must go for those who enjoy and experience, just not a place to sleep! Kuddos

Such an amazing home!
Our family took a weekend away at the Hobbit House for my husband's birthday! We had 3 of our kids with us ages 12, 17, 20. We were all extremely impressed with the home and all of the fun details that made this home so unique and fun! The beds were super comfortable and the house was extremely clean! The first thing we did upon arrival was the fun scavenger hunt that they have set up. It was great to be able to explore the property through the paths through the woods! At night we had a fire in the fire pit and used the hot tub on several occasions! Everything you need for a fun and memorable vacation the owners thought of. The provided Keurig pods and smores kit was a great bonus as we forgot to pack that! We purchased 2 of the beautiful ceramic mugs that they have for sale at the home. We will definitely be back!

Magical getaway
The listing doesn’t even come close to describing how awesome this property is. We felt we were in a different world the minute we got out of the car. So many artistic and thoughtful details went into this listing. We all just kept saying “this is the best VRBO we have ever stayed at!!!” After walking through the Hobbit door, we enjoyed a scavenger hunt for the lost rings, fire pit with s’mores under the string lights in the woods, hot tub with Bluetooth speaker, comfy beds, and soooo much more. Thanks for everything- we even bought a handmade coffee mug to remember our getaway!

Our Hobbit House visit
Very nicely appointed. Lots of thoughtful extras. beautiful surroundings. Well maintained. We didn't need to call the property manager as everything was as it should be. Very rainy for our stay but definitely had great fun anyway.
