Sophie and Denis were so welcoming and helpful with numerous ideas of places to go. The sole problem was that a week was simply not enough time to do all that we wanted in this beautiful region. "This house is incredible. I've never stayed in a place as beautifully crafted and in such a beautiful rural setting. We cooked 4 nights as well and found the kitchen and outdoor grill to be well stocked. Our group was a family of 4 - kids were 18 and 14 years old. During our 5 nights stay we visited the nearby French Basque towns (including Espelette), we day-tripped to San Sebastian, went to Bayonne, Saint Jean de Luz, and Hendaye. Really fun week!"

The village of ASCAIN is very good for numerous walks , and you have a good choice of bars and restaurants , which is 5mins by car , and the coast is not too far away. "Very clean and comfortable located very easily for a motorway stopover into Spain. Dog friendly and a very nice restaurant (with discount) two minutes walk away. Lovely shower and very quiet with safe parking. Close to the beach for dog walking."

"Lisa, la recepcionista fue super amable en todo momento y nos ayudó con todo. La habitación estaba muy bien teniendo que cuenta la categoría y el precio. "This is a majestic old (but updated) hotel with excellent service. They gave us a tour of the facility and explained all the available services. The whirlpool, sauna, and steam room were all included in the price of the room. They even upgraded our room to ocean view! What incredible service at an incredible hotel. "
