THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
ATV'S
Our road is a private gravel road and connects to the Tuscobia Trail for miles of fall riding fun.
SNOWMOBILERS
We are a fully sled-in, sled-out location (you may still drive all the way to the front door in a vehicle as well). Due to the fact that we are located along a private road, guests are able to ride directly to the trail and back along the road. Tuscobia trail is located 3/4 mile away. We can accommodate one long trailer as well as several vehicles. The trailer spot is located at the top of the drive on the lot next door to us, so doesn't require you to back down the drive. If you are coming in to ride, please consider taking advantage of our cancel for any reason insurance offered in your booking confirmation, to cover you if snow conditions are less than ideal for your stay dates.
FISHING
Fishing directly from the property's shoreline can be difficult, however we do have some tips for fishing along the Chippewa River. Directly across from the cabin, there is a great shoreline for evening fishing, where fish can be seen jumping and feeding on the surface. Upstream, the Crooked Rapids and deeper areas near the HWY 70 bridge provide great for fishing but require moderate skill in paddling to access. Downstream, the Radisson Flowage is a great place to fish, but it requires a vehicle shuttle set up or strong river paddling to get there.
BIKERS/RUNNERS/HIKERS
During the summer, spring, and fall, Tuscobia is a great trail for anyone looking to bike or run. If you are looking for a more challenging biking trail, the 14 mile Flambeau Hills Trailhead is about a half hour drive away, and is open to bikers and hikers whenever the trails are not groomed for cross country skiing.
SHOPPING & DINING
Visit the Meadowbrook Farm Cranberry Gift Shop for unique gifts and souvenirs. There are a couple of great local eateries within a 10-15 minute drive, or head into Hayward for more options (a comprehensive list of our favorites can be found in your guidebook sent to you after booking).
FALL COLOR
Peak fall color comes to the area in mid to late September. There are several fall color drives in the area that are marked.

Our stay was amazing. Everything was very clean - it was like staying in luxury up in the woods. Communication with the host was flawless, she was very helpful and fast to reply. Hot tub was clean and perfect. So many extras that we didn’t expect like s’mores kit, paper towels, zip lock bags and tin foil, bathroom and shower supplies, the list goes on. We look forward to staying here again!!

Andrew and Brittney are such great hosts! The listing immediately caught our eye and they were so nice and accommodating during the booking process.
Check in and check out were super easy and the property is even nicer in person! We stayed here during Spring Break away from school and stress and we are so glad we did. 10/10 will definitely be back again!!

I enjoyed our vacation at this location. The cabin was clean, well stocked and in a beautiful location. The boys swam, kayaked and spent many hours away from their electronics. The coffee bar was a hit with everyone. Our hosts were always available to answer questions.

This place was great. Location was very secluded which is what I wanted more than anything. Was mostly clean, though the floors could have been swept a bit better. Had a small issue with the oven while there and the communication from the owner could not have been better! Very quiet place; cool area. If you're looking for a very quiet get away, this is your place!

This cabin was just awesome. Very quiet and private, with a gorgeous path down to a babbling river. Great set up for a bonfire & relaxing by the river. Plenty of parking. The interior was exceptionally clean. We loved the sunroom & the cozy living room. Plenty of room for a girl’s weekend or a family. The coffee bar was a lifesaver also because I forgot to pack my coffee! Amazing experience.

Our stay was perfect! Peaceful, quiet, so comfortable, relaxing.
The cabin has big windows on all sides. When you walk in the living room you see out the living room windows, the sun room and kitchen windows also. The great outdoors surrounds you. (But without the bugs)
The bed was very comfortable. The entire cabin was spotless.
We would highly recommend this cabin for everyone who wants peace, quiet and nature.
It is gorgeous!

We had a great stay and hosts were great with communication. The property is just as described. Beautiful setting on the Chippewa River. The new hot tub was a big hit with our family. Very relaxing. We enjoyed playing some of the provided games and even ordered a couple we really liked. We had our 1 yr old grandson with and was so thankful to have the high chair, toys, etc available.
Sitting by the double sided fire to wrap up and start our days was wonderful.
Would like to stay again in future.

We had a great family vacation at this cabin. We had 4 adults, 2 older children & one very happy dog! Plenty of room for all of us. There was so much to do at the cabin itself, we didn’t need to leave for entertainment. Everyone loved the fire pit, kayaks/canoes & playing in the water. The cabin itself was clean, nicely decorated and stocked with everything we needed. Property owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a private getaway!

My husband and I booked a last minute mini vacation and our 2 adult children met us up there. The cabin is exactly as pictured and so clean and cute. The 4 of us had just enough space without being on top of each other. The fall colors were beautiful and deer and eagles visited us one day. Brittney was quick to respond to all our questions. Loved everthing about the Chippewa River Cabin!

The seemingly small cabin turned out to be surprisingly spacious on the inside. It's eat-in kitchen was delightful, offering a wonderful space to enjoy meals. The furniture provided ample comfort, and sipping a morning coffee while gazing out of the sunroom was an excellent way to kick-start the day.
Our sons had a fantastic time exploring the water with the available canoe and kayaks, turning it into a memorable day on the water. The peaceful atmosphere of the cabin provided an ideal setting for our family to reconnect and enjoy each other's company.

We were nothing but comfortable in this beautiful cabin. We enjoyed lots of cooking in the well appointed kitchen, reading, games and the beautiful river. Our only small disappointment was that the river was a bit low and so kayaking wasn't the best. But the kayaks, canoe, paddles and life vests were in good shape and we still had fun. Thank you for the beautiful fire-pit at the river!

My mom and I had a wonderful time our 10 days there. Smooth check-in, exceptionally clean and all the amenities at our fingertips. We loved that it was secluded—not another person in sight. We looooved the wood burning fireplace the most and enjoyed many fires. There were so many extra things that we didn’t take advantage of, but love if we come back in warmer weather—kayak, canoe, outdoor firepit with comfy Adirondack chairs, and even the Bags yard game. Any questions we had were answered quickly. The little town close by (10 min away) is adorable—with a grocery store (co-op), coffee shop and bar.

Property very secluded, very peaceful with an abundance of wildlife. On our way to property saw 3 bear cubs and mom bear and at property saw 2 dear on trail behind house. Cabin was setup very nicely; possibly a TV or maybe a phonograph with records would have been nice in main living area. Driveway would not accommodate very easily for ATV/UTV trailers, etc. Enjoyed our time!

This cabin was a perfect relaxing escape for us. The cabin is surrounded by trees with a view of the river, we didn't see another person the entire time. We enjoyed sitting in the room overlooking the river, we even saw a doe and fawn cross the clearing one morning.
The gorgeous location means there are bugs galore! Bring mosquito spray for yourself and make sure your dog is up to date on their tick preventative. A tick removal tool is also recommended.
The cabin itself is adorable, the owners obviously put time and care into the location. The hot tub is a great addition. My SO is now shopping for a french press coffee maker after using the one at the coffee bar.
Only changes I would make would be a) adding pavers or stones to the hot tub to prevent sand from getting in it b) a shelf or caddy in the shower and c) supplying bar keepers friend to clean the stainless steel pots/pans.
