"Very impressed with the Onoma Tsuruga Resort. We stayed for two nights in November and loved the property. The room we had , with a private rotemburo was very nice. It was much larger than most rooms in Japan, had excellent facilities, and the private outdoor bath was the real winner. We also enjoyed dining at the hotel. "I was so pleasantly surprised by what was offered. I booked an overnight stay on my way to Sapporo. I had no experience with this chain and expected an average service/facility. "It is a small cozy place for a short stay. Staff are friendly and able to speak english. Check in was very easy. Location is easy to find and great as it is walkable to the train station. I like the breakfast spread. "

"Biggest hotel room I've had in Japan so far, with 20' ceilings. Concrete floor probably didn't help with the sea lion rookery snoring next door to me. Not much the hotel can do about that. The A/C fan is too quiet to help drown out such noise. Bring music in case you run into the same thing."

"Hotel provided a complimentary daily shuttle bus to the major attractions of Hakodate. Located within walking distance from Hakodate Station. Room was clean & new-looking. Pyjamas & quality toiletries were provided but no moisturiser. Hotel was very rigid with check-in time. We arrived a couple of hours early & the front desk wouldn’t entertain us - rather unsympathetic given the wintry conditions outside "

"The staff provided the 'Superb' service. I stayed at the annex building which was a bit dated but totally clean for 4 weeks. I had access to sauna, washing machine, dryer, kitchen sink, microwave, ice machine & Free breakfast. It took me 11 minutes to walk to Goryōkaku where I could enjoy viewing the cherry blossom & I loved it. I highly recommend this hotel. If I ever have the chance to visit Hakodate again during cherry blossom season, I will not hesitate to book this hotel again. "
