"The Yearling will always have a very special place in my heart. It is old Florida charm at its finest. The cabins are not 5-star accommodations, but rather exactly what you would expect to find located on Cross Creek between Lake Orange and Lake Lochloosa. They are clean, comfortable and offer an excellent view of the creek. The neighborhood peacocks call to each other while birds and other wildlife occasionally travel by. My husband and I have stayed three times so far and would love to go back more often."

"The property was exactly as listed. Quick response from property manager. Check in process was very simple. All amenities were on site. The view was amazing. Just seeing the boats traveling by, the river, and all the nature around was breathtaking. The property was great, but what really made it special was Welaka Jack, Randy, and the rest of their family. Jack walked over to make sure we had everything we needed. Just a great guy with plenty of interesting stories to marvel over. We talked on several occasions. We met Randy on the day Jack had invited us over for a cookout with his family. The music and the conversation were unmatched. Great place to stay close to anything you want to do but take the time to hear some stories and met the family. Great people that we can wait to see again."

"We stayed for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend. The host was easy to communicate with and we had a great stay. Heads up that the water is sulfur, so being bottled water if you arent used to it. We will definitely be back!"

"The cabin was very nice, and the location was excellent. The lake views were lovely, and everything was as expected! We anticipated not leaving the cabin for the 4 days, and that held true, except for the one day I went for a bike ride to Ft. McCoy and back. We brought meals and supplies, and all of the usual kitchen things were available for use. Other than the bike ride, it was a great opportunity to sit on the deck, watch the lake, hang in the jacuzzi, and sail the r/c sailboat I brought along. Great stay! "
