Waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes before an attendant checked us in. There was long black hair in the towels and a cockroach crawling on the counter at the continental breakfast. There was also no parking.

This location smells SO GOOD! Our family travels often so yeah its normal for a nice hotel to smell fresh and clean. However, this location smells like paradise. The lobby, the rooms, the bed sheets, even the hand soaps. Literally everything smells extraordinary at this location!!!! Our 1 night stay was great. The only thing that could have been a little better was the breakfast options. Heated Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches aren't for everyone so I was surprised that it was the only warm food served.

For this hotel to be 5 years old, I would say it’s “MEDIOCRE.” If you’re on a budget, this IHG hotel is for you. The hotel property lot is shared with Cambria and Holiday Inn which means parking is LIMITED. There is a 7Eleven convenience store and a car wash just a few feet away. The pictures that you see are exactly of the rooms and the lobby….nothing fancy. With that being said, let me share my experience. A family of 3 who stayed 4 nights. Reservation made a month prior to arrival. 1 day before arrival, called hotel for confirmation and to see if we could check in 5 hours earlier. This was a NO because they were booked solid (on a Tuesday) and our room had not been assigned. We were able to check in a little after 2pm. There is 25.00 deposit that you must pay before check in. We were assigned ROOM 210. The room was not clean to my liking. The floor needed to be swept. There were long hair on some of the guest towels and the bed’s duvet. The rooms are small and the walls are thin. No liners in the trash cans. We saw a few bugs crawling on the floor. The room refrigerator did not get very cold. Ice machine/bucket on 1st floor. The ironing board did not have a cover pad, we used a bath towel as a substitute. No closet space, just wall hooks. There is daily housekeeping. Breakfast every morning with a variety. Morning front desk staff pleasant and helpful especially Alex. Don’t think I will stay at another Avid. I will stick with the REPUTABLE/FAMILIAR Hotel Chains.

The room in the Avid Hotel looked like a prison and we found bugs crawling the wall. We stayed up all night to avoid sleeping in the bed, and checked out the very next day. I will never stay in an IHG property again.

While the property did not have a swimming pool, there was a pool at a hotel that was very close that allowed guests at Avid to use the facilities, top tier because my son really wanted to swim after our flight was cancelled. The hotel seems fairly new, clean and the staff was really helpful.
