Perfect Mountain Family Getaway
Our favorite weeks of the year are spent in this home. Watching the kids play in the river and relaxing on the back deck are how we spend our hours here. Location is perfectly situated for easy access to outings, hiking and restaurants.

Perfect spot to recharge your families batteries
We had a great experience! The house was just as described and had everything we needed. The location and creek were amazing! The kids fished and tubed down town the creek and there were plenty of things to do in the area. Highly recommend white water rafting at the Natahala Outdoor Center on the chattooga river (about 40 minutes away) and the gold city gem mine (about 30 minutes). Scott was great and answered any questions we had promptly. Overall highly recommend!

A great family vacation!
The property was great and the host, Scott, could not have been more attentive and helpful. The stream out back was great for our 16-year-old to fish in. The house is an easy drive from several fun activities. We enjoyed Waterfall viewing, Dry Falls was incredible, as well as Zip Lining at Highlands Aeriel Park. We rafted the Nantahala River and took the train ride into the Nantahala gorge, which was stunning (get the cars with the AC if in the summer). All in all it was a wonderful vacation, and the greater Highlands area is just beautiful.

New Years getaway
Property was as described and clean. Stocked with cookware, utensils, etc. The view of the creek was so picturesque and we enjoyed a bonfire outside even if it was 30 degrees! Inside wood burning fireplace and outside fire pit were amazing! House is easily accessible from main roads. Several grocery stores within 15 minutes. The boys fished everyday and caught small trout. We enjoyed hikes in Highlands, NC and very close Mud Creek Falls. We made a day trip out of Tallulah Gorge State Park and Helen, GA. Good access to so many outdoor activities. Would recommend to 1-2 families as there is plenty of room.

Thanksgiving family trip - charming and pleasant
We brought our “city kids” and suburban living elderly parents here for Thanksgiving and we all had a great time! The place was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment (first rental I have stayed where the knives were sharp and can chop all the veggies and meats!!), and the surrounding area was beautiful! Communication with the owner was easy and responsive! The location is a convenient drive from the Atlanta area which is great. But still close to the national forests for nature, hikes, and fire pit s’mores. We are from the Chicago area and found the temperature in the house to be fine and cozy. Having the outdoor fire pit near the creek was a pleasant way to while away the evenings with family!

Thank you from our family!
North Carolina is often a destination for our family. Our stay was made even more special at this creekside cabin. Our family was able to play in the creek, fish, kayak, make s'mores, grill out and enjoy nature in a tucked away retreat that offered privacy. It was quiet and peaceful. Our vacation was hard to leave thanks to this little piece of heaven. Thank you Scott for being a wonderful host and trusting us with your special spot which will forever be one of ours. Memories made!!!! Mark, Jodi, Owen and Ollie

Quality Family Time and Fun For All
We had the most magical time at this tranquil mountain house. A comfortable walk for all ages down to the river. Kids enjoy the short and safe kayak downstream while we can relax and stare at the beauty from the massive porch with rocking chairs. We really enjoyed all the quality time together playing games, cooking dinners and having firepit evenings while kids catch fireflies. The stars are incredible here late night. Scott is incredibly helpful and informative about the area, history of this home and things to do nearby. We will definitely make this a return trip!

Very nice house , very clean and had everything we needed. The owner Scott was very nice and accommodating also. The heat was on when we arrived which made the house very nice and warm. My grandsons loved the creek and having a campfire at night while roasting marshmallows. Lots of family memories made. Will definitely be back.

Aussie Invasion!!!
So wonderful to be able to play with our Australian grandkids for the first time in 3 years! (Thanks, COVID!) We last visited in person in 2019, and they are now 7 and 9 and naturally sooo much bigger.... As we stayed in the "cabin" over July 4th weekend, the girls learned about why we Americans celebrate on that day --and had a great time watching the parade in Franklin, eating all the special junk food there, and later the sparklers and bottle rockets and cookout by the fire pit back at home. Of course, the main attraction was the creek and kayaks. And the chess board. Hard to get them away from chess to go in the creek, then hard to get them out of the creek for dinner.... There was a lot of reading going on, and some interesting geography lessons and discussions thanks to the world map and globe in the dining room. What a great idea! Monopoly and Clue practically took over the living room. Best of all (for me, Grandma) was NO TV was ever turned on!! We did manage to get away a couple of days for other adventures: the waterfall loop and lunch in Highlands, rafting on the Nantahala (reprise of 1986 trip with our then 9-year-old daughter --still great!) and a couple of trail hikes. Son-in-law got away for a day of fly fishing instruction and quiet time. All-in-all this stay was a great solution for everyone to get together finally. Weather was perfect (warm days, cool evenings, some rain at night, beautiful foggy mornings to have coffee on the deck.)

Lovely, quiet respite
This house was in a great location. Day trips to Highlands, Sylva, Dillsboro, Franklin, Cherokee were all easy to access and be back before dark. The house had a beautiful view from the porches. The creek flows right through the yard. You are in the country and it is quiet, and serene. We enjoyed fishing , painting, or just watching the water go by. There are short and beautiful hikes nearby. Plus lots of breweries and places to eat. The house had all that we needed. Scott was very helpful. It is his family home and you can tell he loves this special place.

Beautiful spot with nice little creek! House needs some cleaning and updating, but the owner was willing to take our last minute booking so cleaning could be related to our scheduling. The yard is a little on the wild side, but can be overlooked as cabin charm!

Gem of Relaxation
I can’t express enough how enjoyable our stay was. The cottage provided all the comforts of home and more. Sitting on the large deck listening to the creek and looking out at at the wooded setting was heavenly. Fishing, wading in the creek, and ending our night by a fire added to our relaxation. We made memories to last a lifetime.

Perfect cabin in every way!
Everything about this property was great! It was spacious enough for our family and felt so secluded but only 10-15 mins from stores/restaurants. The house was well appointed with everything we needed. TVs had Netflix/Prime/YouTube which kept everyone happy on a rainy day. We brought an extension cord and christmas strings lights on a whim which ended up serving as path lighting along the walkway down to the water—worked out great! We spent most of our time by the water fishing, kids playing in the shallow (safe) creek, and enjoying the fire pit. Save yourself the hassle and get the wood delivered! You’re on vacation! All in all this was a perfect location and our family/friends are already inquiring for the rental link after seeing our pictures—the photos you see don’t do it justice. You can’t ask for a more gracious host; great communication, suggestions and helpful tips. We’re sad to be driving home! This will be a repeat property for us.

Home is great! Beautiful hardwood floors, beds super comfortable, and kitchen cookware/dinnerware stocked for all your needs. The full deck overlooking the water was so relaxing. The owner was great at providing information. He offered many suggestions of places to visit, explore, and eat! Due to rainy weather, we missed out on enjoying the fire pit, and trout fishing!
