"I was volunteering in Lourdes for 5 days and needed a reasonably priced place to stay. The Villa Mariale was the best price. I realised that I had stayed there some years before, when it was called something else. It hasn’t changed much, but at least, this time bath towels were included. "We would not hesitate to recommend this rental. Martine’s communications were always prompt and thorough. We particularly appreciated that she left us breakfast for our first morning having arrived in the early hours. Home made plum jam was such a treat. "The property has not been maintained or checked for cleanliness prior to occupation. Mould on surface of dinner plates, bowls requiring cleaning prior to use. Strong odor of urine in living room, dank smell from kitchen drain, mold . At check-in we were told to purchase our own toilet paper! No paper towels either.Mosquito infested outdoor sitting area precluded its use and no screens on any windows or doors."

"The food service was treble and very disappointing, was given cold onion soup, pizza was awful, the lady serving us was nice but everything from the get go wasn’t professional. I was served wrong soup to start with(soup of the day which I didn’t order) secondly it took more 30 minutes to get my food while my wife finished her salad, thirdly both my pizza and onion soup served the same time. I was so disappointed but the front desk staff was excellent and professional. I will never eat in that restaurant if I ever come back to Lourdes.Dr.Mike"
