We were on a family holiday (12 persons, a granny, 5 adults and 6 teenagers) covering three generations. We were looking for a large house with character. In that we were not disappointed. The house and gardens are charming, old-world and comfortable. We all fell in love with the place. The only downside was that it was hard to find being in the countryside and that it is very close to a busy railway. However, these are not deal breakers.
This is not a "Costa del Sol" type holiday home. However, there are beaches at a reasonable drive from the house. Restaurantes near the house are typical Portuguese and cheap and filling.
The neighbours look after the gardens, orchards and poultry. We found them to be very friendly and helpful. They certainly added to the overall feeling of being in the real Portugal.
We had a great holiday and I would recommend the place for a rural holiday for an extended family or group holiday as there is plenty of space.
We found the price to be reasonable. We had to leave a big reserve but there wasn't any problem or motive to complain.
When we were there the weather wasn't great and there were red flags on all the beaches. I understand the coast can be quite dangerous and I would check that out.
