This is our first time staying at Polynesian Village. We usually stay in a high-rise and this is far better. The easy access to our car and the beach was amazing. We stayed on the second floor (beach side, not across the street), which was not a problem for us (there isn't an elevator). There is a pool, it is located across the street with the other units.
This unit is great for 2 people. If you are considering more, just know you'll be "close" together.
The unit itself was pretty clean, I have very high standards when it comes to cleanliness. I replaced the plastic shower curtain because the one there was covered in soap scum and some mildew. This wasn't a big deal to me, I was going to the store anyway (cost me $3). Due the humidity and the carpet, there is a slight musty/mildew smell. This was not bad at all, but if you're picky, that may bother you. The couch wasn't great, the cushions kept sliding out/off. The bed is firm, but not bad. The sheets had a few small holes. When taking the sheets off before we left, the mattress pad definitely needed to be placed (many stains).
There is onsite coin laundry (2 washers $2.25, 2 dryers $2.00), so take quarters if need to do laundry.
Bottom line- would I stay here again, yes. There wasn't anything that was a deal breaker for me. We spent most of our time on the beach and balcony. However, if you are picky, this may not be the place for you.
