"Lovely 2-bedroom home with beautiful views, no tv or wi-fi so it’s perfect for those who want to switch off and relax. Rural road and steep driveway but worth the trip. Good kitchen, open plan living area but we found the main bed was very firm. Our host, Joanna, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. "

"Stayed over for 2 nights here, while attending a large family and community event re my brother who died in April. We were very comfortable here, and the cottage is very attractive, obviously historic. It was super-well equipped with everything you'd need. Easy access from the road, close to the Kohukohu village, and a clear view across the harbour in front. Thankyou for having us, we'd come again if the need or opportunity arose. "

"We arrived to check in after booking our stay in mid August, this was confirmed by Expedia/Book a Bach and our payment taken. When we arrived to check in on 30 December the hotel staff could find no record of our booking. They tried everything to see where our booking was. "This listing is more then just a tad misleading... It says pet friendly, but no secure area for the dogs or any shelter. Leaving about 1sqm for the pets inside when it rains. The use of space in a tiny home is probably the worst ive seen. A big bed with ZERO use of wall space for storage. No toilet scrubber for the toilet is one of the finer details they are missing here. There are several dining/drinking options, and a well supplied kitchen in the units in case you prefer to eat at home. "Lovely fruit trees and orchard propertie Very nice wild flowers The house is run down condition The hot tub had NO water in it and had not been going for a while as had broken furniture in it The 2 x farm dogs that live outside on the propertie walk around the house barking at night We feel the add for the home stay and what reality was is dishonest. We had a terrible experience Who did the original 5 star rating of the propertie ? "

"A small but wonderful cottage on the outskirts of town. Quiet and rural, we wanted a place to relax without traffic or noise. There are sheep and cows in the area, chickens, some cute bunnies and pheasants running around. The owners are wonderful people who helped us throughout our stay. We stayed a week and although small, the cottage had everything we needed - and if not, the owners were right there helping. The outdoor seating area is great on spring and summer days, completely enclosed for comfort, a bbq, grill, and tables to enjoy, it complements the inside area which has the kitchen, bathroom, and bed area. There is always hot water, the cottage was super clean, no bugs to bother the outdoor eating area (nor inside), comfortable bed, and all cooking items that are needed. The only comment is that we left our suitcases on the porch area as there is no closet but, the owner brought over a clothes rack and we are happy to live out of our suitcases as we are competent nomads. We would definitely com back. Note for the area, there does not seem to be an active taxi service although there are a few in the town (you might see them), and car rentals are difficult - Rent a car before arriving in the area, it is much more convenient and less costly."
