Small hotel, budget, cozy, well located, 10 min walking distance from Gare du Nord, and also very close to Momtmartre. Always someone at the desk, helping with any question, really appreciated. They have a safe place to keep your luggage.

A hotel worth trying when your budget is tight.

For a budget priced hotel we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were always pleasant, room serviced every day and a beautiful en suite shower room which looked newly done. The locality with the metro station, patisserie, and several cafes and restaurants very close by more than made up for the unkempt look of the area in some places. A short stroll brings you to MontMartre and the Opera the other way plus Gare du Nord was €11 in an uber. We would definitely use Hotel Altona again.

Our stay was great. It was convenient to transportation and everything we wanted to do while in Paris. The staff was great and provided an amazing recommendation for dinner down the street.

The only positive aspect was the young man at the check-in desk, who helped us check in smoothly. However, the room was cold, the hotel was very old, and the neighbourhood wasn’t safe either. A few guys tried to open our bags near a grocery store, but the cashier didn’t care at all! The hotel was close to the centre for sightseeing, but breakfast wasn’t included and it didn’t offer much anyway.

Two couples, four night stay, exploring Paris. Out all day after an excellent breakfast at the hotel. Our two rooms were recently refurbished, clean and perfectly adequate. All staff we came into contact with were friendly, polite and helpful. The hotels price/location were great for us - very easy to get to wherever we wanted to go in Paris. We had a great time.
