Review for stay from 14 September 2019 to 24 September 2019
When we arrived at 8:30pm, the lady who greeted and lived on site did not have any idea we were coming, she thought it had been cancelled, despite us paying when requested and emailing the owner a couple of days before to inform her of our itinerary. The lady who greeted us was pleasant and polite, did not speak any English which is very understandable, made communicating tricky, but Google translate relayed communication well enough. But as she had no idea we were coming nothing was ready in the Villa, she said she would change the bed there and then, then clean and sort everything else out the next day. This was not done, she only change the bed sheets. The villa had clearly not been cleaned for a while and we had no soap, toilet paper or washing powder. I did not expect a large amount but everywhere I have gone have at least left a small supply of essentials to get you through the first night until you can get to the shop. The level of lighting was very low, and would be hard at night for people with sight issues, also there is WiFi but not in the villa - you have to go outside the villa for a signal. I was really disappointed with the level of cleanliness in the villa, it was not filthy but it was poor and I expect better from holiday accommodation. It's doubly annoying when the lady responsible for the cleaning asks you for €50 euros at the end of the holiday, when she had clearly not cleaned it for us. Outside the Villa is as lovely as the pictures show and very pleasant lounge around under the beautiful Tuscan sun. The people who live on site, Ellie the dog and the maintenance guy are all very nice. It was our dream to go to Tuscany and this was an amazing holiday for us. However the Villa was the only aspect of the whole holiday stopping it from being the perfect holiday for us, which is such a shame because the Villa has so much potential.
[counter comment from Easy Reserve] Despite the communications there was a misunderstanding for the arrival apparently. Normally everything works well for check-in and we feel sorry for these guests. Surely the amount paid for cleaning will be refunded with our apologies.
